The Daemyung Sangmu was a professional ice hockey team based in Seoul, South Korea. The club played in the Asia League Ice Hockey (ALIH). Sangmu (상무, 尙武) is the sports division of the Korea Armed Forces Athletic Corps.
Sangmu was established in 2012 by Korean government to prepare for the 2018 Pyeongchang winter Olympics. This team was made up of several players serving their two-year military service and therefore were unable to maintain practice and playing with their respective clubs, while conscripted. In its first season, 17 players played for Sangmu. Most players belonged to South Korea's national team. Sangmu, being a military team, unlike the other two Korean teams, Anyang Halla and High1, were not able to bring in any foreign imports, or trade for any players, nor could their players be traded to other teams. The team fully relied on home grown talent serving their compulsory military service. [1] [2]
The team debuted in the Asian Hockey league with a 6–1 loss to Anyang Halla on 7 September 2013. [3]

High1 was an ice hockey team based in Seoul, South Korea. Formed in 2004, the team was initially made up of players from the defunct Korean Ice Hockey League who didn't immediately move to Anyang Halla from the Hyundai and Dongwon teams as well as other disbanded teams and players who had returned from military service. Prior to the 2007–08 season, the team was known as Kangwon Land, named after their owner, Kangwon Land Corporation. Between 2005 and 2019, High1 competed in the Asia League Ice Hockey.

Patrik Martinec is a former professional ice hockey forward who played his last five seasons for Anyang Halla of the Asia League Ice Hockey, from South Korea. While playing for Halla, he earned the nickname "Grandfather" because of the age difference between him and most of the players on the team.

Lee Young-jun is a South Korean ice hockey centre. Lee is currently a free agent having last played for the Daemyung Killer Whales of Asia League Ice Hockey (ALIH). He also played for Anyang Halla, High1 and Daemyung Sangmu.
Chung Mong-won is a South Korean ice hockey administrator and businessman. He has served as chief executive officer of both Halla Group and Mando Corporation, founded the Anyang Halla hockey team in 1994, and co-founded Asia League Ice Hockey in 2003. He became involved in international ice hockey as manager of the South Korea men's national ice hockey team in 2003, then became chairman of the Korea Ice Hockey Association in 2013, and implemented a development plan for the men's national team and the South Korea women's national ice hockey team in advance of ice hockey at the 2018 Winter Olympics hosted in South Korea. Under his leadership, the men's national team earned promotion to the top tier at the 2018 IIHF World Championship, and the women's national team played in the 2018 Winter Olympics on a Unified Korea team with North Korea. The International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) has named Chung to its 2020 IIHF Hall of Fame group of inductees.
The 2022 K League 1, also known as the Hana 1Q K League 1 for sponsorship reasons, was the 40th season of the top division of professional football in South Korea, and the tenth season of the K League 1.
