Daniel Sharp (clergyman) American pastor

Daniel Sharp, D.D. was pastor of the Charles Street Baptist Church, Boston, Massachusetts, for more than forty years and one of the founders of the Newton Theological Institution. He was born 25 Dec. 1783 in Yorkshire, England and came to NY as a merchant at age 19, then studied in Philadelphia under Rev. Dr. STAUGHTON, and from there went to Newark, NJ. He was pastor of Charles Street Baptist Church in Boston from 1812-1853, having previously been invited to preach there in 1809 and 1811. He died 23 June 1853, 7 PM, in the village of Stoneley outside Baltimore, at the home of his friend Robert P. Brown, Esq. Notice taken from the Boston Journal, 24 June 1853, and published in the New York Times on 27 June 1853.

Daniel Sharp is a swimmer on New Zealand's paralympic team, who competed at both the 2004 Summer Paralympics in Athens and the 2008 Summer Paralympics in Beijing. Winning a bronze medal in 2004 for the 100 m breaststroke, he competed again in 2008 and won a silver medal.

Daniel Sharpe FRS was an English geologist. He was born at Nottingham Place, Marylebone, Middlesex. He studied a number of mountainous formations in Great Britain and Continental Europe and arrived at important conclusions about cleavage in rocks.

Richard Adrian William Sharp OBE is a retired English rugby union player. Born in India during the British Raj, his family moved to Cornwall, England where he was educated at Montpelier School, Paignton and Blundell's School in the neighbouring county of Devon and at Balliol College, Oxford. He was a former player at Redruth R.F.C., Wasps FC, Bristol FC and England rugby union fly-half and captain. He played for England while at Oxford and led England to the Five Nations title in 1963. He played cricket for Cornwall in the Minor Counties Championship between 1957 and 1970.
