Tuff Darts was an American punk rock band. They were one of the first bands to establish an audience at CBGB. They reached their greatest fame in the mid-late 1970s with such songs as "Slash", "(Your Love Is Like) Nuclear Waste" and their biggest hit single, "All For The Love of Rock and Roll." The band appeared at popular New York City clubs like Max's Kansas City and CBGB and featured Robert Gordon (vocals), Jeff Salen (guitar), Bobby Butani (guitar), John DeSalvo (bass), and Jim Morrison (drums). This was the original band that was on the "Live at CBGB's" compilation record in 1976. After parting ways with Gordon, the band found new lead singer Tommy Frenzy (Frenesi). In 1978 the group released their self-titled debut album Tuff Darts!, on Sire Records, produced by Bob Clearmountain and Tony Bongiovi, shortly before disbanding.

Michael van Gerwen is a Dutch professional darts player. He is currently ranked number one in the world, having won the PDC World Darts Championship in 2014, 2017, and 2019. He began playing darts at the age of 13. He won the 2006 World Masters and threw a televised nine-dart finish at the 2007 Masters of Darts, becoming the youngest player to do either at age 17. However, after this initial burst onto the darting scene, van Gerwen struggled for consistent form until his breakthrough year in 2012. Improving from world number 38 at the start of 2012 to number four at the beginning of 2013, he won his first major PDC title at the Grand Prix and reached the final at the 2013 World Championship. In 2014, at the age of 24, Van Gerwen became the youngest winner of the PDC World Championship a record he still holds today.
The World Darts Federation (WDF) is the official world sport governing body and tournament organiser for the game of darts. It was formed in 1974, by representatives of the original fourteen founding members. Membership is open to the national organizing body for darts in all nations. The WDF encourages the promotion of the sport of darts among and between those bodies, in an effort to gain international recognition for darts as a major sport. The WDF is a full member of SportAccord, which is the governing body for international sports federations.

The players were discontented by the game's big decline in television coverage in 1989 and the early 1990s, and by what they saw as the BDO's inability to reverse that decline, culminating in 16 top ranked players, including every previous world champion who was still active, breaking away from the BDO to form their own organisation, the World Darts Council (WDC).

Darts Mills is a historic unincorporated community located within Readington Township in Hunterdon County, New Jersey, United States. It is located on the South Branch of the Raritan River, and several mills were built there in the early 18th century. At its height, a merchant, blacksmith, store and complex of mills were here. The last mill at this site burnt down in 1994. Foundation walls and a mill race remain at the site today. On April 29, 1982, Dart's Mill was added to the National Register of Historic Places.
