Datta may refer to:
Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay, was a Bengali novelist and short story writer of the early 20th century. He generally wrote about the lives of Bengali family and society in cities and villages. However, his keen powers of observation, great sympathy for fellow human beings, a deep understanding of human psychology, an easy and natural writing style, and freedom from political biases and social prejudices enable his writing to transcend barriers and appeal to all Indians. He remains the most popular, translated, and adapted Indian author of all time.

She also acted in Hindi movies such as Parineeta (2005) with Vidya Balan and Sanjay Dutt and other movies. She was associated with All India Radio for a long time doing Shruti Natok. She received the Presidential Award for Lifetime Achievement from Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam and many other awards during her lifetime.
Abohomaan is a 2010 Bengali-language film by Rituparno Ghosh, which explores the nuances of relationships through a married film director who falls in love with an actress who is the same age as his son. The film stars Deepankar De, Mamata Shankar, Ananya Chatterjee, Jisshu Sengupta, Riya Sen and is produced by Mahesh Ramanathan, Reliance Big Pictures. Rituparno Ghosh, Arghyakamal Mitra, Mahesh Ramanathan and Ananya Chatterjee won National Film Awards in 2010 for Best Director, Best Editor Best Bengali Film and Best Actress respectively. The film was screened in the Marché du Film section of the 2009 Cannes Film Festival.
Devdas is a 2013 Bangladeshi romantic period drama film based on the Sharat Chandra Chattopadhyay novel Devdas. The film is directed by Chashi Nazrul Islam, who also directed the 1982 version and produced by Faridur Reza Sagar under the banner of his Impress Telefilm, based on the 1917 novel of the same name by Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay. The film is set in the early 1900s and follows Shakib Khan as Devdas Mukherjee, a wealthy law graduate who returns from Calcutta after 13 years to marry his childhood sweetheart, Paro, played by Apu Biswas. However, the rejection of this marriage by his own family sparks his descent into alcoholism, ultimately leading to his emotional deterioration and him seeking refuge with a courtesan, Chandramukhi, played by Moushumi.
Chaka is a 2000 Indian Bengali drama film written and directed by Nepaldev Bhattacharjee. The screenplay was written by Prashanta Bhattacharjee. The film revolves around the life of two 1971 immigrants. It delineates the struggle of a marginalized jobless labourer and his wife, and the adversities they undergo. The plot is invariably imbued with communist postulations. The music of the film was composed by Kalyan Sen Barat, with lyrics penned by Pulak Banerjee and Nachiketa. The chief assistant director of the film is Madhuchhanda Sengupta. It stars Mithun Chakraborty and Debashree Roy in the lead.
Praktan is a 2016 Indian Bengali film directed by Nandita Roy and Shiboprosad Mukherjee and starring Prosenjit Chatterjee and Rituparna Sengupta. It brings back the Prosenjit - Rituparna collaboration 14 years after Pratihinsa (2002). The theme of the film is based on conflict between contentment and sacrifice of married life.
Pather Dabi is a Bengali novel written by Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay. It was first published as a novel in 1926, after having been initially serialized in the journal Bangabani. The book is set in British-occupied India.

Rabindranath Tagore was a Bengali polymath who worked as a poet, writer, playwright, composer, philosopher, social reformer and painter. Kapalkundala is a 1981 Bengali drama film directed and produced by Pinaki Bhushan Mukherji. It starred Ranjit Mallick, Bhanu Bannerjee and Mahua Roy Chowdhury in lead roles. This was the fourth remake of Kapalakundala based on 1866 same name novel of Bankimchandra Chattopadhyay.
Datta is a 2023 Indian Bengali language film based on the novel with the same name written by Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay. directed by Nirmal Chakraborty. It stars Rituparna Sengupta, Saheb Chatterjee, Joy Sengupta, Biswajit Chakraborty, and Devlina Kumar. The music was composed by Joy Sarkar. It was theatrically released on 16 June 2023.
