Dessau is the second studio album by Dessau, released on November 21, 1995 by Mausoleum. [1]

Music

Dessau contained previously unreleased recordings with material the band had released previously. "Suffer" was released on the WTII Records 2014 Free Sampler and a remix was released on Fifth Colvmn Records' Fascist Communist Revolutionaries compilation prior to Dessau's release. [2] [3] "Bejing" and the band's cover of Joy Division's "Isolation", which had become a minor hits for the band, were previously released on their 1989 studio album Exercise in Tension . [1] [4] "Isolation" was recorded in 1988 and produced by Paul Barker of Revolting Cocks and Al Jourgensen of Ministry. [5] [6] The cover has been released as a 12" single and on three various artists compilations: C'Est La Silenz Qui Fait La Musique... (1994, Electro Pulse), [7] CDPRO Vol #13 (June 1996) (1996, EMI Music Canada) [8] and Down & Dirty (1999, Pet Rock). [9]

Tim Griggs of AllMusic gave Dessau a negative review, calling the material "tired" and that "most of the tracks are mindless screamfests that don't seem to go anywhere." [10]

Dessau were an American industrial rock band based out of Nashville, Tennessee. The band was founded by John Elliott, who worked with a revolving cast of musicians to create Dessau's music. The bnd released two studio albums, 1989's Exercise in Tension by Carlyle Records and 1995's Dessau by Mausoleum.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Cyanotic (band)</span>

Cyanotic is a Chicago-based industrial rock collective fronted by Sean Payne that formed in 2002 and released its first full-length album in 2005. Cyanotic is known for its genre-blending work, which fuses traditional industrial beats and vocals with drum n bass, sampling and heavy metal to create a hard, aggressive sound. The band's lyrics contain many tongue-in-cheek references to transhumanism.
