Dr. Rita Hocog Inos Jr./Sr. High School (RHI), formerly Rota Jr./Sr. High School, is a secondary school in Songsong on the island of Rota in the Northern Mariana Islands, and a part of the CNMI Public School System. It is the island's sole secondary school. [1]

Songsong is the second largest village on the island of Rota, Northern Mariana Islands, United States. As of 2000, its population is 593. Songsong is located along the southern coast, in a narrow peninsula. The village's most recognizable landmark is Mt. Tinubal, more commonly known as Wedding Cake Mountain because of its resemblance to a layered wedding cake. The word songsong is a Chamorro word meaning "village, people." The village itself is subdivided into several districts:

Rota also known as the "Friendly Island", is the southernmost island of the United States Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI) and the second southernmost of the Marianas Archipelago. The name Rota is believed to have come from the Spaniards possibly naming the island after the municipality of Rota, Spain. It lies approximately 40 nautical miles (74 km) north-northeast of the United States territory of Guam. Sinapalo village is the largest and most populated followed by Songsong village (Songsong).

The Northern Mariana Islands, officially the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, is an insular area and commonwealth of the United States consisting of 14 islands in the northwestern Pacific Ocean. History

Rota Jr./Sr. High School was formed in 2006 by the consolidation of Rota High School and Rota Junior High School. [2]

Rota Elementary/Junior & High School previously served Rota. Rota High School separated from the K-12 school, [3] and had its first class graduate in June 1974 and in 1983 moved from the former Rota Elementary School facility to a new facility. [2]

Northern Marianas College (NMC) is a public college in the United States Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI). The college was founded in Susupe in 1976. NMC today has three campuses on the islands of Saipan, Tinian, and Rota. The main campus on Saipan is in Fina Sisu. NMC is the sole public college within the Commonwealth and is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.

Chalan Kanoa settlement in Saipan

Chalan Kanoa is one of the settlements on Saipan, the largest of the Northern Mariana Islands. It is located in the southwest of the island. The village contains the island's central post office, as well as the historic Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cathedral and Mount Carmel School, directed by the Spanish Mercedarian Missionaries of Berriz. Once a separate village, it is now virtually contiguous with other nearby villages on Beach Road, including Susupe and San Antonio.

Sinapalo or Sinapalu is a village on the island of Rota in the Northern Mariana Islands. The village is the largest settlement on the island, it is located south of the island's airport, Rota International Airport, close to the centre of the island.

San Roque is a settlement in Saipan, in the Northern Mariana Islands. It is located to the north of Tanapag on the island's northwest coast, close to the point where the barrier reef protecting the Tanapag Harbor joins to the island. It is connected to Tanapag by the Marpi Road, which runs the length of the northwestern coast.

2018 Northern Mariana Islands gubernatorial election

The 2018 Northern Mariana gubernatorial election took place on Tuesday, November 13, 2018, to elect the Governor of the Northern Mariana Islands and the Lieutenant Governor of the Northern Mariana Islands to a four-year term in office. The election, which corresponds to the larger Northern Mariana general election and the United States midterms, was originally scheduled to be held on Tuesday, November 6, 2018. However, Governor Ralph Torres postponed all elections in the territory until November 13 due to the impact of Typhoon Yutu, which struck the Northern Mariana Islands as a Category 5 storm in October 2018, shortly before the planned elections.
