"Eighties" is Killing Joke's first single from their fifth studio album, Night Time. It was originally released in April 1984 by E.G. Records as a 12" and 7" single, produced by Chris Kimsey. The 12" single A-side featured the track "Eighties " with "Eighties" and "Eighties " as B-sides. The 7" single exempted the "Serious Dance Mix" and instead, featured "Eighties" as the A-side. Also, the 7" single was sold with a bonus 7" single of "Let's All Go ". The single reached No. 60 in the UK Singles Chart. A short snippet of "Eighties" was the opening theme to the 2002 sitcom That '80s Show. It was used for a party scene in the 1985 movie Weird Science. It is also used as the theme song for the Investigation Discovery series The 1980s: The Deadliest Decade.

The Eighties is a documentary miniseries which premiered on CNN on March 31, 2016. Produced by Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman's studio Playtone, it serves as a follow-up to the predecessors The Sixties and The Seventies with a 7-part series chronicling events and popular culture of the United States during the 1980s. In May 2016, CNN greenlit an 8-part follow-up titled The Nineties, which premiered in 2017.

God Or The Girl is a five-part miniseries run by the television channel A&E in spring of 2006. It chronicled the lives of four young men, Joe, Dan, Mike, and Steve, who were considering the Catholic Priesthood. Each of them did something to try to help them make their decision: Joe hitchhiked to Niagara Falls, Dan carried an eighty-pound cross, Mike went to a Christian retreat center, and Steve traveled to Guatemala to do missionary work. The series ended with only Steve deciding to pursue the priesthood by entering the seminary. However, two of them incorporated religion into their lives, as Joe became a lay minister, and Dan became a youth minister. Mike took the teaching position he was offered. Steve has left the seminary and is now married.
