Ektaar Music Ltd is a Bangladeshi record label based in Dhaka. It was launched on 30 September 2002 by Sadruddin Khan (Bobby), Ziauddin Khan (Pablo), Sheikh Monirul Alam, Thein Han Maung (Titi) and Feisal Siddiqi (Bogey). Some artists they deal with are: Renaissance, Pothik Nobi, Pantha Kanai, Ajob, Alif, Anusheh, Shayan Chowdhury Arnob, Bangla, Gaurab, Habib Wahid, Hyder Husyn, Krishnokoli, Leemon, Moon, Riki (Kolkata), Sahana, Sandipan, and Shahjahan Munshi.

Shayan Chowdhury Arnob Bangladeshi singer-songwriter, musician and record producer

Shayan Chowdhury Arnob, known simply as Arnob, is a Bangladeshi singer-songwriter, musician, and an artist. Few songs from his early albums are named "She Je Boshe Ache" (2005) and "Tomar Jonno" (2006).

Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra was the radio broadcasting centre of Bengali nationalist forces during the Bangladesh Liberation War in 1971. This station played a vital role in liberation struggle, broadcasting the Declaration of Independence and increasing the morale of Bangladeshis during the war. In 1971, radio was the only media reaching to the far ends of Bangladesh. It ran a propaganda campaign through the war. Mr Sufi barkat-e-khoda was one of the personalities of the show.

<i>Monpura</i> 2009 Bangladeshi film

Monpura, is a 2009 Bangladeshi Bengali film, directed by Giasuddin Selim. The film was remade into Indian Bengali in 2010 as Achin Pakhi, which was directed by Anjan Das. Monpura is a romantic tragedy film set in rural Bangladesh. As Selim's large-screen debut, and contemporary-folk soundtrack released ahead of screening which were an instant hit, it received a huge media hype even before its release. The shooting took place in various locations, including Dhunat in Bogra, Kushtia and Dhaka.

Stentorian is a heavy metal band from Bangladesh formed in early 2001. Stentorian released one commercially successful album, Protimuhurtey, in 2005 and several commercially successful singles. Their most popular songs include "Adrissho Juddho", "Bishonno Adhaar", "Bidrohi", "Jolosrot", "Anubhuti", "Mone pore na" and most recently "Chhobi". Stentorian is regarded as one of the pioneers of the underground heavy metal music movement, which re-energized heavy metal in Bangladesh in this current decade. Perhaps Stentorian is most notable for being led by two of the greatest Bangladeshi rock vocalists of all time Torsha Khan and Tanim Sufyani" and for their commercially successful single Bishonno Adhaar where they featured Sumon from Aurthohin.

Bangladeshi rock or Bangla rock is the rock music in Bangladesh that is derived from British and American rock music, mixed with Bengali classical and adhunik music from the 1960s. Rock music was introduced in the 1960s by a few bands who began developing a distinct rock sound of Bangladesh. It is often designated as "band music." Bangladeshi rock is commonly divided into two categories, the "East Pakistan" rock scene, and the "Bangladesh" rock scene. From the 1970s to the 2000s, it was one of the nation's most popular musical genres.

<i>Chaina Bhabish</i> 2005 studio album by Arnob

Chaina Bhabish is the debut studio album by Bangladeshi singer, songwriter Arnob, released on 1 June 2005 by Ektaar Music. The album was mixed, mastered and engineered by Arnob himself. It featured the hit song "She Je Boshe Ache". The album artwork was also drawn by Arnob himself. Since the release of the album Arnob gained huge popularity among the youth of Bangladesh.

<i>Joi Bangla</i> 1971 EP by Ravi Shankar

Joi Bangla is an EP by Indian sitar virtuoso Ravi Shankar, issued in August 1971 on Apple Records. The recording was produced by George Harrison and its release marked the first in a series of occasional collaborations between the two musicians that lasted until the Chants of India album in 1997. Shankar recorded the EP in Los Angeles, to help raise international awareness of the plight faced by refugees of the Bangladesh Liberation War, in advance of his and Harrison's Concert for Bangladesh shows at Madison Square Garden, New York. Side one of the disc consists of two vocal compositions sung in Bengali, of which the title track was a message of unity to the newly independent nation, formerly known as East Pakistan. The third selection is a duet by Shankar and sarodya Ali Akbar Khan, supported by Alla Rakha on tabla, a performance that presaged their opening set at the Concert for Bangladesh.

<i>Jaago</i> (2010 film) 2010 Bangladeshi film

Jaago is a 2010 Bangladeshi sports drama film written and directed by Khijir Hayat Khan. The film is produced by Adnan Karim. The film features Ferdous Ahmed and Afsana Ara Bindu in lead roles and with supporting Arifin Shuvoo, Sharlin Farzana, Tariq Anam Khan, Rawnak Hasan, FS Nayeem and many more. It is the first Bangladeshi film based entirely on football. The story of "Jaago" is said to be inspired by the Swadhin Bangla Football Dol, who played a vital role during the Liberation War (1971) by raising funds through charity matches and encourage the morale of the freedom fighters.

G-Series is a major Bangladeshi record label. The company produces and publishes cassettes, CDs, VCDs, and DVDs of dramas, telefilms, movies, and music. It is one of the largest such companies in Bangladesh. The owner of the company is Nazmul Haque Bhuiyan, popularly known as Khaled. The Daily Star described it a major record label in Bangladesh.

<i>Shikari</i> (2016 film) Bangladesh-India joint action thriller film

Shikari is a 2016 Bangladesh-India joint venture Action thriller film directed by Joydip Mukherjee and Zakir Hossain Simanto. Produced by Abdul Aziz and Himanshu Dhanuka under the Jaaz Multimedia and Eskay Movies banners and it stars Bangladeshi superstar Shakib Khan, Srabanti Chatterjee, Rahul Dev and Sabyasachi Chakrabarty in pivotal roles and centers around Khan, a disguised professional assassin with mysterious past, tasked with assassinating a top government official. The film also features Amit Hasan, Kharaj Mukherjee, and Shupriyo Dutta in supporting roles. The soundtrack album and background score of the film was composed by Indraadip Dasgupta.

Shamsuzzaman Khan Bangladeshi academician

Shamsuzzaman Khan was a Bangladeshi academician, folklorist, and writer who served as president of Bangla Academy since June 2020 until his death in April 2021. He also served as the director general of the academy during 2009–2018. He was notable for editing book series on folk culture of 64 different districts in 64 volumes and collections of folklore series in 114 volumes. He was awarded Bangla Academy Literary Award in 2001, Ekushey Padak in 2009 and Independence Day Award in 2017 by the Government of Bangladesh.

<i>Nabab</i> 2017 joint Bengali language film directed by Joydeep Mukherjee

Nabab is an Indo-Bangladesh 2017 film directed by Joydip Mukherjee and produced by Abdul Aziz and Himanshu Dhanuka under the banner of Jaaz Multimedia and Eskay Movies. The film features Bangladeshi star Shakib Khan as an intelligence agent from Bangladesh tasked with a secret operation in West Bengal, India and Subhashree Ganguly as a crime news reporter, Nabab's love interest. And features Sabyasachi Chakrabarty, Amit Hasan, Aparajita Adhya, Kharaj Mukherjee and Arindam Saha in supporting roles. The soundtrack album and background score of the film was composed by Savvy Gupta and Akassh. The film was released on 26 June 2017 on the occasion of Eid in Bangladesh and released in India on 28 July 2017.

Sheikh Sadi Khan Bangladeshi composer

Sheikh Sadi Khan is a Bangladeshi composer and music director. He won Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Music Director for the film Ghani (2006) and Best Music Composer for Bhalobaslei Ghor Bandha Jay Na (2010). He won Ekushey Padak in 2018 by the Government of Bangladesh.

Kazi Md Ali Jahangir, known as Balam, is a Bangladeshi singer, guitarist, composer, and music producer. He was born in Dhamaron village in Tongibari Upazila of Munshiganj (Bikrampur) district. He used to be the lead guitarist/vocalist for the band Warfaze. Later he introduced himself as a solo singer. In 2019 he joined LRB as a lead guitarist/vocalist.
