The Embranchement de Colmar is a canal in eastern France. It connects Colmar to the Rhin. It is 22.6 km long with three locks. [1]

La Nouvelle branch

The La Nouvelle branch is a 37.3-kilometre (23.2 mi) branch of the Canal du Midi in Aude, southern France which runs from the Canal du Midi through Narbonne and on to the Mediterranean. It is made up of three waterways: the first 5.1 kilometres (3.2 mi) is the Canal de Jonction from the Canal du Midi to the Aude, the second section is 800 metres (2,625 ft) of the Aude itself and the third is the 31.6 kilometres (19.6 mi) Canal de la Robine which enters the Mediterranean at Port-la-Nouvelle. The La Nouvelle branch is designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site as part of the Canal du Midi and is managed by the French navigation authority, Voies navigables de France.

The Canal de la Haute-Saône, also canal de Montbéliard à la Haute-Saône, is a canal in eastern France. Although it was designed to connect the upper course of the river Saône with the Canal du Rhône au Rhin along Lure and Ronchamp, only the short section between Allenjoie and Botans has been opened in 1923. In the section between Ronchamp and Botans, several locks and tunnels have been built, but it was never used. The section Allenjoie-Botans is 10 km long with five locks. It was closed in 2013.

The Canal de jonction de Nancy is a canal in eastern France. It forms a connection between the Canal des Vosges at Richardménil and the Canal de la Marne au Rhin at Laneuveville-devant-Nancy. It was closed due to a collapsed embankment, but it was reopened in 2012. It is 10.2 km long with eighteen locks.

It was created at the 2015 arrondissements reform by the merger of the former arrondissements of Colmar and Ribeauvillé. Since January 2017, when 7 communes from the arrondissement of Thann-Guebwiller joined the arrondissement of Colmar-Ribeauvillé, it has 98 communes.
