Erik Brofoss (21 June 1908 –7 May 1979) was a Norwegian economist and politician for the Labour Party.
Brofoss was born in Kongsberg. In his younger days he was an athlete who competed national level in the 100 metres. He represented Kongsberg IF,and won a silver medal at the Norwegian championships in 1928. [1] His career best time in 100 m was 10.8 seconds,achieved in August 1931 in Kongsberg. [2] He had 6.96 metres in the long jump,achieved in July 1928 at Bislett stadion. [3]
He became Minister of Finance in 1945 and stayed in this position until 1947. He then helped found the Ministry of Trade and Shipping and headed it from 1947 to 1954. He was later a director of the Executive Board of the International Monetary Fund from 1970 to 1973.
Andreas Thorkildsen is a retired Norwegian track and field athlete who competed in the javelin throw. He was the Olympic Champion in 2004 and 2008,European Champion in 2006 and 2010,and World Champion in 2009. He is the first male javelin thrower in history to simultaneously be European,World and Olympic Champion. He was also a three-time silver medalist at the World Championships,placing second in 2005,2007 and 2011. His personal best of 91.59 m,set in 2006,is the Norwegian record.

Jaysuma Saidy Ndure is a Gambian-Norwegian sprinter. He is of Serer heritage of the noble Ndure family. In 2002,he went to Oslo,aged 18 and settled with his father who has lived in Norway since the 1970s. Having changed nationality from Gambia to Norway in 2006,he holds Norwegian records in the 100 and holds both the Gambian and Norwegian records in the 200 metres,and is the seventh and fourth fastest European of all times on the two distances. He has a bronze medal from the African Championships and several top-three placings in IAAF Golden League meets and the IAAF World Athletics Final.
Gyula Pálóczi was a Hungarian athlete who specialized in the long jump and triple jump. He won two medals at the European Indoor Championships,and due to his versatility the European Athletic Association has called him "the most successful jumper Hungary has ever produced".
Andrew Howe is an American-born Italian athlete who specializes in the long jump and sprinting. He won this event as well as the 200 metres at the 2004 World Junior Championships. He was successful at senior level at a young age,winning a long jump bronze at the 2006 IAAF World Indoor Championships before becoming the European Champion later that year. In 2007 he became the European Indoor Champion and won the silver medal at the 2007 World Championships in Athletics.
Ndiss Kaba Badji is a Senegalese athlete who competes in the long jump and triple jump. He is the Senegalese record holder for triple jump,with 17.07 metres achieved when he won the 2008 African Championships. He has a personal best long jump of 8.32 metres,achieved in October 2009 in Beirut,helping him to win the silver medal at the 2009 Jeux de la Francophonie.

Both performances achieved during the 2011 NCAA Division I Championships in Des Moines,Iowa where he completed the 100 m long jump double. Fabrizio Donato is an Italian athlete competing in the triple jump and occasionally in the long jump. He is known for winning gold medals at the 2001 Mediterranean Games and the 2009 European Indoor Championships,the latter in a new championship record of 17.59 metres. He is the Italian record holder with 17.60 metres outdoor and 17.73 indoor.
