Ernakulam South metro station is a metro station of Kochi Metro. It was opened on 4 September 2019 as a part of the extension of the metro system from Maharaja's to Thaikoodam. [1] The Ernakulam Junction railway station is located near to this metro station.

Kochi, also known by its former name Cochin, is a major port city along the Malabar Coast of India bordering the Laccadive Sea. It is part of the district of Ernakulam in the state of Kerala. The city is also commonly referred to as Ernakulam. As of 2011, the Kochi Municipal Corporation had a population of 677,381 over an area of 94.88 km2, and the larger Kochi urban agglomeration had over 2.1 million inhabitants within an area of 440 km2, making it the largest and the most populous metropolitan area in Kerala. Kochi city is also part of the Greater Cochin development region and is classified as a Tier-II city by the Government of India. The civic body that governs the city is the Kochi Municipal Corporation, which was constituted in the year 1967, and the statutory bodies that oversee its development are the Greater Cochin Development Authority (GCDA) and the Goshree Islands Development Authority (GIDA).
Ernakulam is one of the 14 districts in the Indian state of Kerala, and takes its name from the eponymous city division in Kochi. Aluva is a municipality in the Ernakulam district of Kerala, India. Aluva is situated 14.5 km (9.0 mi) from Kochi, along the banks of the Periyar River, and is a part of the Kochi metropolitan area. Aluva is a transportation hub, connecting North Malabar and Central Kerala to Kochi. The Cochin International Airport at Nedumbassery, located 11.7 km (7.3 mi) from Aluva, is an aviation hub hosting both domestic and international flights. Thrippunithura is a municipality in the Ernakulam district of Kerala, India. Thrippunithura is located about 7.1 km (4.4 mi) east of the Kochi city centre, and is a major satellite town of the city. Tripunithura being a prominent historical residential region in Kochi, was the capital of the erstwhile Kingdom of Cochin. The Hill Palace situated in Tripunithura was the palace of Maharaja of Cochin, the ruler of Kingdom of Cochin. Thrippunithura is known for its rich culture which includes the annual Vrishchikotsavam festival that takes place at the Sree Poornathrayeesa Temple.

Kaloor is a downtown region in the city of Kochi, in the state of Kerala, India. It is two kilometres (1.2 mi) from the Ernakulam North Railway Station. Kaloor Junction is also the name of a major intersection in this part of the city, intersecting the two major arteries of downtown Kochi, namely Banerji Road and the Kaloor-Kadavanthra Road. The nearest major intersections are Palarivattom to the east and Lissie Junction to the west.
Cochin Harbour Terminus (CHTS) is one of the railway stations in the city of Kochi, in the state of Kerala, India. It is located on the Willingdon Island. During the peak time of the station, 17 trains operated from here to different parts of the country and served as the principal station providing rail connectivity to the southern segment of the Port of Kochi located on the Willingdon Island. The station, which has not been in use after the commissioning of Vallarpadam container terminus is now locked and all the train service to the station from Ernakulam Junction were completely stopped in 2013. Since then, only occasional tourist trains carrying passengers will arrive at the station – notably the Golden Chariot in 2022.
Aluva railway station is a railway station in the city of Aluva in the Ernakulam district in the Indian state of Kerala. It is an NSG 3 grade station under Thiruvananthapuram railway division. The station lies in the Shoranur–Cochin Harbour section of Thiruvananthapuram railway division. It is located right aside Aluva KSRTC bus stand, one of the main bus terminals in Ernakulam district, and a kilometre away from Aluva metro station of the Kochi Metro.
Ernakulam–Kayamkulam coastal line is a railway line which runs along the coastal areas of Alappuzha, Ernakulam districts in Kerala state of India. The coastal railway line starts as a branch line from Ernakulam Junction railway station towards Alappuzha and joins with the route via Kottayam at Kayamkulam Junction. This is the only main track in Kerala yet to be doubled and the single line traffic causes major delays in the route. The coastal line has a total distance of 102 km (63 mi).
Town Hall Metro Station is a station of Kochi Metro, formerly known as Lissie Metro Station. It was opened on 3 October 2017 as a part of the extension of the metro system from Palarivattom to Maharaja's College. The station is located between Kaloor and M. G. Road. The former name of the station refers to the name of the nearby Lissie Hospital, which, in turns, is derived from Thérèse of Lisieux. The station was renamed on 1 February 2020. The Ernakulam Town railway station is located near to this metro station.

It is a downtown station located at GCDA lawns catering passengers for Kadavanthra and Panampilly Nagar, situated in between Ernakulam South and Elamkulam metro stations. The station is based on the theme of " History of print media in Kerala". It was opened on 4 September 2019 as a part of the extension of the metro system from Maharaja's to Thaikoodam.
