Florence is a city in, and the county seat of, Lauderdale County, Alabama, United States, in the state's northwest corner.
Florence is a home rule-class city in Boone County, Kentucky, United States. Florence is part of the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky metropolitan area. The population was 29,951 at the 2010 census.

John Shillito & Co. was Cincinnati's first department store. It was founded by John Shillito (1809-1879) and William McLaughlin in 1830 as "McLaughlin & Shillito", but their partnership soon broke up. In 1857, Shillito, then operating on his own, built a store on Cincinnati's Fourth Street, designed by James W. McLaughlin, the son of his former partner. In 1878, Shillito's moved to a new landmark building on Race and Seventh streets, also designed by James McLaughlin. The fashionable new store had eight floors, five elevators, over 800,000 sf of space, and employed over 1000 people.

The Florence Y'all Water Tower is a water tower owned by the city of Florence, Kentucky, United States. It stands between the Florence Mall and interstate highways 75 and 71, where it is seen by millions of interstate motorists annually. The 1974 tower, originally painted with the words FLORENCE MALL in giant letters, became a regional landmark after the M was changed to Y' to address legal concerns.
Kentucky Route 18, also known as Burlington Pike, is a state highway that serves as a major road through Florence and Burlington in the U.S. state of Kentucky. The western terminus of the route is at KY 338 in Rabbit Hash. The eastern terminus is at KY 1017 in Florence.
The 1973 Alabama Crimson Tide football team represented the University of Alabama in the 1973 NCAA Division I football season. It was the Crimson Tide's 79th overall and 40th season as a member of the Southeastern Conference (SEC). The team was led by head coach Bear Bryant, in his 16th year at his alma mater and 29th overall as a head coach, and played their home games at Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa and Legion Field in Birmingham, Alabama. They finished season with eleven wins and one loss, as SEC champions and with a loss to Notre Dame in the Sugar Bowl.
