Fynes Moryson spent most of the decade of the 1590s travelling on the European continent and the eastern Mediterranean lands. He wrote about it later in his multi-volume Itinerary, a work of value to historians as a picture of the social conditions existing in the lands he visited.
Henry Fynes Clinton was an English classical scholar, chronologist and Member of Parliament.

Cowal is a peninsula in Argyll and Bute, in the west of Scotland, that extends into the Firth of Clyde.
Loch Fyne, is a sea loch off the Firth of Clyde and forms part of the coast of the Cowal peninsula. Located on the west coast of Argyll and Bute, Scotland. It extends 65 kilometres (40 mi) inland from the Sound of Bute, making it the longest of the sea lochs. It is connected to the Sound of Jura by the Crinan Canal. Although there is no evidence that grapes have grown there, the title is probably honorific, indicating that the river, "Abhainn Fìne", was a well-respected river.
Andrew Crosse was a British amateur scientist who was born and died at Fyne Court, Broomfield, Somerset. Crosse was an early pioneer and experimenter in the use of electricity. He became widely known after press reports of an electrocrystallization experiment he conducted in 1836, during which insects "appeared".

HMS Loch Fyne was a Loch-class frigate of the British Royal Navy, built by the Burntisland Shipbuilding Company Ltd, Burntisland, Fife, Scotland, and named after Loch Fyne in Scotland. The ship was launched in 1944, and served at the end of World War II. Recommissioned in 1951, she served in the Persian Gulf and was scrapped in 1970.

She later released her second album Tha Cum Up on Rufftown in 2000, toured with Bone Thugs-n-Harmony, and made numerous guest appearances on hip hop albums in the late 1990s. She had a hit solo song in 1998, "Romeo and Juliet", which reached number 6 on the Billboard Singles Chart. She briefly reappeared a couple of years later in 2000 with a song called "Ya Style" featuring Snoop Dogg and Bizzy Bone. In 2010 Sylk E. Fyne resurfaced back into the rap game. She released 2 new songs on her official Myspace page.
