The Quad Cities River Bandits are a Class A minor league baseball team, affiliated with the Houston Astros, that plays in the Midwest League. Its home games are played at Modern Woodmen Park in Davenport, Iowa, one of the Quad Cities.
Paul Andrew O'Neill is a retired right fielder and Major League Baseball player. In his career, he won five World Series championships while playing for the Cincinnati Reds (1985–1992) and New York Yankees (1993–2001). In a 17-year career, O'Neill compiled 281 home runs, 1,269 runs batted in, 2,107 hits, and a lifetime batting average of .288. O'Neill won the American League batting title in 1994 with a .359 average and was a five-time All-Star in 1991, 1994, 1995, 1997 and 1998.
Hazen Shirley "Kiki" Cuyler was a Major League Baseball right fielder from 1921 until 1938 who later was inducted in the Baseball Hall of Fame. Cuyler established a reputation as an outstanding hitter with great speed. He regularly batted .350 or higher and finished with a .321 lifetime batting average. In 1925 Cuyler hit 18 home runs and 102 RBI. Cuyler's Pirates won the World Series that year, the only time in his career that he contributed to a World Series winner.
William Nathaniel "Buck" Showalter III is an American former Major League Baseball (MLB) manager. He has served as manager of the New York Yankees (1992–1995), Arizona Diamondbacks (1998–2000), Texas Rangers (2003–2006), and Baltimore Orioles (2010–2018). He also is a former professional Minor League Baseball player and television analyst for ESPN.
César Leonardo Tovar, nicknamed "Pepito" and "Mr. Versatility", was a Venezuelan professional baseball player, who played Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Minnesota Twins (1965–72), Philadelphia Phillies (1973), Texas Rangers (1974–1975), Oakland Athletics (1975–1976), and New York Yankees (1976). Tovar was an extremely versatile player capable of playing various defensive positions on the field. In 1968, he became only the second player in MLB history to play all nine field positions during a single game, a feat first accomplished by Bert Campaneris, in 1965. Tovar also had a prolific career in the Venezuelan Professional Baseball League, where he played 26 seasons, second only to the 30 seasons played by Vic Davalillo.
George Lange Kelly, nicknamed "Long George" and "High Pockets", was a Major League Baseball (MLB) first baseman. He played most of his MLB career for the New York Giants, but also played for the Pittsburgh Pirates (1917), Cincinnati Reds (1927–1930), Chicago Cubs (1930), and Brooklyn Dodgers (1932).
George Andrew Hendrick, Jr. is a former major league outfielder for the Oakland Athletics, Cleveland Indians, San Diego Padres, Pittsburgh Pirates and California Angels. Hendrick is arguably best remembered as a member of the St. Louis Cardinals, for whom he played from 1978 to 1984 and was a key player in the team's 1982 World Series win. He led the Cardinals in home runs every year from 1980 through 1983. Hendrick is currently the special advisor to baseball operations for the Tampa Bay Rays.
Christopher Michael Woodward is an American professional baseball former infielder and coach, and currently the manager of the Texas Rangers of Major League Baseball (MLB). He played in MLB for the Toronto Blue Jays, New York Mets, Atlanta Braves, Seattle Mariners, and Boston Red Sox organizations from 1999 through 2012. He served as a coach for the Mariners and Los Angeles Dodgers from 2014 through 2018, when the Rangers hired him as their manager.
Modern Woodmen Park, is a minor league baseball venue located in Davenport, Iowa, United States. It is home to the Quad Cities River Bandits, a Class-A affiliate of the Houston Astros. Located on the banks of the Mississippi River, in the shadow of the Centennial Bridge, home run balls to right field often land in the river.
Thomas Lynn Trebelhorn is a former manager in Major League Baseball for the Milwaukee Brewers (1986–91) and Chicago Cubs (1994). He was the manager of the Class A Salem-Keizer Volcanoes from 2008 to 2012.
George Friederich Sherrill is a former professional baseball relief pitcher. Sherrill pitched in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Seattle Mariners, Baltimore Orioles, Los Angeles Dodgers, and Atlanta Braves from 2004 through 2012. He was an MLB All-Star in 2008.
Frank O'Donnell "Don" Hurst was a first baseman in Major League Baseball. He played with the Philadelphia Phillies and Chicago Cubs from 1928 to 1934. In 1932, he led the National League in runs batted in with 143. Hurst stood at 6 ft 0 in (1.83 m).
Thomas Patrick O'Malley is a former Major League baseball player born in Orange, New Jersey, and raised in Montoursville, Pennsylvania in the United States. He played for the San Francisco Giants, Chicago White Sox, Baltimore Orioles, Texas Rangers, Montreal Expos, and New York Mets. He also spent six highly successful seasons in the Japanese Central League with the Hanshin Tigers and Yakult Swallows. He also worked as a manager for the Newark Bears in the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball after retiring.

Aloysius Edward "Pie" Piechota was a professional baseball player whose career spanned 15 seasons, two of which were spent with the Major League Baseball (MLB) Boston Bees / Braves. He played two seasons with the Boston Bees and Braves from 1940 to 1941. Piechota, a pitcher, compiled an earned run average (ERA) of 5.66, allowing thirty-nine earned runs off of 68 hits, six home runs, and 42 walks while recording 18 strikeouts over 62.0 innings pitched. Piechota also played in 14 seasons of minor league baseball. He made his MLB debut at the age of 26 and was officially listed as standing 6 feet 0 inches (183 cm) and weighing 195 pounds (88 kg).
