Good News is an upcoming Indian romantic comedy film starring Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Kiara Advani. [2] The film about surrogacy is directed by debutant director Raj Mehta and produced by Karan Johar and Akshay Kumar under their respective banners Dharma Productions and Cape of Good Films. [3]

Diljit Dosanjh is an Indian singer, actor, television presenter and social media celebrity who works in Punjabi and Hindi cinema. He is recognised as one of the leading artists in the Indian music industry. He also acts in Punjabi movies, with many of them being notable hits, including Jatt & Juliet, Jatt & Juliet 2, Punjab 1984, Sardaar Ji, Ambarsariya, Sardaar Ji 2, Super Singh, Soorma, Sajjan Singh Rangroot and Shadaa – which are among the most successful Punjabi movies in history. His first recorded mainstream performance was his solo track and music video Ishq Da Uda Ada from his 2004 album produced by Finetone Cassettes. He made his Bollywood debut with Udta Punjab in 2016 for which he earned the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut. He mostly works with White Hill Productions. He is also a judge in Rising Star.

This film's name was announced on Twitter as - Good News. It is Diljit Dosanjh’s first movie under the banner of Dharma Productions. [5]

Filming

Filming commenced in December 2018, with Dosanjh and Advani filming their scenes. [6] Kumar and Kapoor joined filming in January and announced it by posting on Instagram. [7] On recent interview and twitter post Akshay Kumar said about Kareena Kapoor Khan "We are extremely fond of each other. Bebo and Lolo tease me about the amount of money I’m making and I tease them about having a flat in every building in Bandra. That’s our fun banter”' [8] Anjana Sukhani of Golmaal fame has joined the cast of Good News to essay an important role. [9] The filming was finished in the first week of April 2019. [3]

Golmaal is a series of Indian comedy films directed by Rohit Shetty and produced first by Dhillin Mehta and later by Shetty and Sangeeta Ahir. All the four films starred Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi, and Tusshar Kapoor, with Kareena Kapoor appearing in two of the four films. The first film Golmaal: Fun Unlimited was released in 2006, the second film Golmaal Returns was released in 2008. The third film Golmaal 3 was released in 2010 and became the second-highest-grossing Bollywood film of that year.

Marketing and release

The film was slated to release on 6 September but was pushed back to 29 November, [1] later it was again pushed back to release on 27 December 2019. [4]

Soundtrack

The music for this film is composed by Himesh Reshammiya, Meet Bros, Mithoon and Tanishk Bagchi who will recreate the songs "Sauda Khara Khara" and Diljit’s song "Patiala Peg". Background score is composed by Sandeep Shirodkar. Anirudh Ravichander will make his Hindi singing debut. Lyrics are written by Kumaar, Irshad Kamil, Shabbir Ahmed, Mithoon, Sameer Anjaan.

Laxmmi Bomb is an upcoming Indian Hindi-language comedy horror film produced by Shabina Khan and Tusshar Kapoor, written and directed by Raghava Lawrence in his Hindi directorial debut. The film a Hindi remake of the 2011 Tamil film Muni 2: Kanchana, features Akshay Kumar and Kiara Advani in the lead roles. The story follows the tribulations of a man who fears the supernatural, and then he is possessed by a ghost of a transgender, Laxmmi and the fun begins. The film is scheduled to be released on 22 May 2020 to coincide with Eid al-Fitr.
