The regional Government of Extremadura [1] [2] (Spanish : Junta de Extremadura) is the group of institutions ruling the Spanish autonomous community of Extremadura.
It is headed by the President of Extremadura. Its legislative branch is the unicameral Assembly of Extremadura. Executive functions are performed by seven ministries (Consejerías).

In accordance with the President's general guidelines, the government establishes policy and directs the administration of the Autonomous Region, exercising its executive and regulatory powers under the Spanish Constitution and the Statute of Extremadura. The politics of Spain takes place under the framework established by the Constitution of 1978. Spain is established as a social and democratic sovereign country wherein the national sovereignty is vested in the people, from which the powers of the state emanate.
In Spain, an autonomous community is the first-level political and administrative division, created in accordance with the Spanish Constitution of 1978, with the aim of guaranteeing limited autonomy of the nationalities and regions that make up Spain.
Extremadura is a landlocked autonomous community of Spain. Its capital city is Mérida, and its largest city is Badajoz.
