Hockey Club Milano was an Italian ice hockey team based in Milano. Throughout its history, the team has changed its name twice. It was previously called Associazione Disco Ghiaccio Milano and Hockey Club Milano Inter.

Ice hockey is a contact team sport played on ice, usually in a rink, in which two teams of skaters use their sticks to shoot a vulcanized rubber puck into their opponent's net to score points. The sport is known to be fast-paced and physical, with teams usually consisting of six players each: one goaltender, and five players who skate up and down the ice trying to take the puck and score a goal against the opposing team.
The club was founded in 1924 and finally folded in 1956.
They were one of founder members of the Campionato italiano di hockey su ghiaccio and were its first champion, in 1925.
From 1937 to 1946 the club was disbanded by order of the FISC, and its players were part of the HC Diavoli Rossoneri Milano renamed as AC Milanese DG at that time.
The Spengler Cup is an annual invitational ice hockey tournament held in Davos, Switzerland. First held in 1923, the Spengler Cup is often cited as the oldest invitational ice hockey tournament in the world. The event is hosted by the Swiss team HC Davos and played each year in Davos, Switzerland, from December 26 to 31 inclusively. Currently, all games are held at Vaillant Arena.

Hockey Club Davos is a professional Swiss ice hockey club based in Davos, Switzerland. Davos plays in the National League (NL). The team is usually a strong force in the league and often bolster their roster with Swiss national team players and players who once played for National Hockey League teams. HC Davos also has hosted the annual Spengler Cup tournament, an invitational competition, since 1923.

They are conducted under the authority of the Federazione Italiana Sport del Ghiaccio (FISG). As in the other top-level Italian sports leagues, the winners of the IHL - Serie A will wear the Scudetto the following season. The league's cup is known as the Rbk Hockey Cup to reflect Reebok's sponsorship of the league. The league initially merged with the Inter-National League to become the Alps Hockey League in 2016.
Hockey Club Junior Milano Vipers was an Italian professional ice hockey team from Milan. Founded in 1998 as Hockey Club Junior Milano, was renamed Vipers in 2000.
In June 2008 the organization was disbanded and replaced with Hockey Milano Rossoblu, a new club that employs much of the same office staff, but does not benefit from the same fundings and operates on a significantly tighter budget.

Italian men's, women's, man's U-20, man's U-18, and women's U-18 national teams participate at the IIHF World Championships. Italy has been a member of the IIHF since January 24, 1924.
The 2016–17 Serie A season was the 83rd, and final season of the Serie A, the top level of ice hockey in Italy. 16 teams participated in the league, and Ritten Sport won the championship. Hockey Milano Rossoblu won the League Cup. After this season the Serie A was folded, and merged into multi-nation league called the Alps Hockey League.
Enrico Calcaterra was an Italian ice hockey goaltender and executive. Calcaterra represented Italy internationally at four IIHF World Championships. In 1999, Calcaterra became the first Italian sportsperson to be inducted into the IIHF Hall of Fame. He is considered the pioneer of Italian hockey.
