HMA Gaffar was a Jatiya Party (Ershad) politician and the member of parliament for Khulna-5.
Gaffar was elected to parliament from Khulna-5 as a Jatiya Party candidate in 1986 and 1988. [2] [3]
Gaffar was a veteran of Bangladesh Liberation war. He retired as a lieutenant colonel from Bangladesh Army. [4] He was member of the Central University of Science and Technology trustee board. [5] He was awarded Bir Uttom for gallantry. [6]
Gaffar died on 12 April 2020 in Combined Military Hospital. [7]
Barisal Division is one of the eight administrative divisions of Bangladesh. The Krishak Sramik Janata League is a political party in Bangladesh formed by Bangabir Kader Siddiqui,a renowned war hero who led the Kaderia Bahini during the Bangladesh's Liberation War of 1971,after he left Awami League in 1999. The Khelafat Majlish,also spelt Khelafat Majlis,is a far-right Islamist political party in Bangladesh. The party was founded in Dhaka,the capital of Bangladesh,in 1989 by Deobandi scholar Azizul Haque along with Ahmad Abdul Qadir and former leaders of the National Awami Party and Tamaddun Majlish.
