The Coast Province was one of Kenya's eight provinces. It contained all of the country's coastline on the Indian Ocean. Its capital city was Mombasa. It was inhabited by the Mijikenda and Swahili peoples, among others. The province covered an area of 79,686.1 km2.
Kilifi is a town on the coast of Kenya, 56 kilometres (35 mi) northeast by road of Mombasa. The town lies on the Kilifi Creek and sits on the estuary of the Goshi River. Kilifi is the capital of Kilifi County and has a population of 122,899.
Mombasa County is one of the 47 counties of Kenya. Its capital is Mombasa. In terms of economy it is second after Nairobi. Initially it was one of the former districts of Kenya but in 2013 it was reconstituted as a county, on the same boundaries. It is the smallest county in Kenya, covering an area of 229.7 km2 excluding 65 km2 of water mass. The county is situated in the south eastern part of the former Coast Province. It borders Kilifi County to the north, Kwale County to the south west and the Indian Ocean to the east. Jumba la Mtwana is the site of historical structures and archaeological relics on the Indian Ocean coast of Kenya, lying close to the Mtwapa Creek, in Kilifi county, north of Mombasa. It dates back to the fourteenth century. Its features include a mosque by the sea.

Maitha Gideon Mung'aro is a Kenyan politician who has served as the governor of Kilifi County since August 2022. As a member of the Coalition for Reforms and Democracy and the Orange Democratic Movement, he was elected to represent Kilifi North Constituency in the National Assembly in the 2013 parliamentary election. He was the chairman of the African Union Parliamentary Group. He was also the chief whip, succeeding Jakoyo Midiwo. He was a member of the Parliamentary House Business Committee (Housekeeping), Committee on Selection (Housekeeping) and the Lands Committee (Departmental). He is also a former mayor of Malindi and represented Malindi Constituency in parliament before it was split.
Bahari Constituency was an electoral constituency in Kenya. It was one of three constituencies in Kilifi District, which is now Kilifi County. The constituency was established for the 1988 elections. In 2013, Bahari Constituency was dissolved and replaced by Kilifi South Constituency and Kilifi North Constituency.
Ganze Constituency is an electoral constituency in Kenya. It is one of seven constituencies in Kilifi County. The constituency has four wards, all electing Members of County Assembly for the Kilifi County Assembly. The constituency was established for the 1988 elections. After the IEBC adopted the Boundary commission's recommendation for new constituencies and boundaries, Ganze Constituency retained its name, and no major boundaries were altered. It has a population of 143,906 according to the 2019 census report by the Kenya National bureau of Statistics (KNBS). Its current member of parliament is Hon. Charo Kenneth Kazungu Tungule of Pamoja African alliance Party (PAA).

Nowadays, there are many villages across the country called Kisumu Ndogo. for example, there are in fact two Kisumu Ndogo villages in Kilifi county alone, one in Malindi sub county and one in Kilifi North sub county. The Mnarani ruins are the remains of two mosques near Mnarani in Kilifi County, Kenya. Dating from the 15th century, the mosques are located on a bluff overlooking Kilifi Creek from the southern side. The settlement at the site dates back to the 14th century, and the site also contains a number of tombs.
