Hal Patino (born Hasso Patino) is an American bass guitar player, who has been a member of the King Diamond and Force of Evil metal bands. [1] He also played in Blakk Totem, Maltese Falcon, Palladion and Doctor Butcher.
On 4 May 2010, the band Pretty Maids announced that Patino would be their new bass player, replacing Kenn Jackson. He left the band in early 2011, due to musical differences.
In 2013, Patino started the band Nordic Beast with John Norum and Mic Michaeli from the band Europe. The drummer is Mikkey Dee from Motörhead and the lead singer is Åge Sten Nilsen from Wig Wam.
Hal Patino also has a son, who is the lead singer of the band Maryann Cotton.
On 19 July 2014, King Diamond's official Facebook announced that "Hal Patino has been relieved of his duties" from the band. [2]
Timothy W. "Tim" Alexander is an American musician best known as the drummer for the rock band Primus. Alexander played on Primus recordings from Suck on This to Tales from the Punchbowl, before leaving the band in 1996, only to rejoin in 2003 for the EP Animals Should Not Try to Act Like People. Alexander left the band for the second time in 2010, to rejoin again in 2013. Alexander is hailed frequently for his "polyrhythmic" playing.
Mercyful Fate is a Danish heavy metal band from Copenhagen, formed in 1981 by vocalist King Diamond and guitarist Hank Shermann. Influenced by progressive rock and hard rock, and with lyrics dealing with Satan and the occult, Mercyful Fate were part of the first wave of black metal in the early to mid-1980s. Many of the bands from this movement went on to influence later black metal musicians in the 1990s, particularly in Norway. Since the band's inception in 1981, Mercyful Fate have released seven studio albums, two extended plays, and four compilations.
Kim Bendix Petersen, better known by his stage name King Diamond, is a Danish rock musician and songwriter. As a vocalist, he is known for his powerful and wide ranging singing voice, in particular his far reaching falsetto screams. He is the lead vocalist and lyricist for both Mercyful Fate and the eponymous King Diamond. As well as being a vocalist, Diamond also plays keyboards and guitars on studio recordings but uses live shows to focus solely on his vocal performance. Diamond is renowned for his dark lyrical content on many of Mercyful Fate's albums as well as his story concepts for some of King Diamond's albums. Diamond is also well known for his distinctive shock stage persona. Diamond remains a huge influence on many rock and metal artists including Metallica, Slayer and Cradle of Filth
Reel Big Fish is an American ska punk band from Orange County, California, best known for the 1996 hit "Sell Out". The band gained mainstream recognition in the mid-to-late 1990s, during the third wave of ska with the release of the gold certified album Turn the Radio Off. Transplants are an American punk rock/rap rock supergroup. They formed in 1999 when Tim Armstrong played his friend and roadie Rob Aston some beats he had made using Pro Tools and asked Aston if he would consider contributing lyrics.
