Hannah O'Connor (born 28 April 1990) is an Irish rugby player from Galway. She plays for Blackrock College RFC, Leinster and the Ireland women's national rugby union team.
O'Connor excelled at several sports in her youth and only took up rugby in 2013 for social reasons. Her first club was CYM Terenure, a Leinster League Division 2 side. To get experience at Ireland's premier level (the All-Ireland League) she moved to Blackrock College RFC which also led to her selection for provincial side Leinster.
O'Connor started out in rugby playing in the out-half position, then moved to centre but now plays in the back row. She can play any position in the back-row but plays number eight at club level. Unique for a forward she is also a place-kicker and takes them for club and province (Leinster). O'Connor was the top place-kicker in the 2019-2020 All-Ireland League when she was also selected as its Player of the Year. [1]
She has won the interprovincial series with Leinster in 2018 and 2019 and was the competition's top points scorer in 2019. [2]
O'Connor made her debut for the Ireland women's national rugby union team in November 2019 in an Autumn international, when she was a replacement for Judy Bobbett. [3]
She made her Six Nations debut in the 2020 Women's Six Nations as a late replacement for Dorothy Wall against Italy. [4]
She played in Ireland's three games in the 2021 Women's Six Nations which was rescheduled and re-formatted due to COVID-19. She replaced Ciara Griffin after 64 minutes against Wales, replaced Claire Molloy after 54 minutes versus France and replaced Griffin (who had a head injury) after just 13 minutes of the 3rd/4th place playoff against Italy which Ireland won 25–5. Born in Dublin, O'Connor's family moved from Kildare to Loughrea, Galway which gave her a very broad sporting experience. She first played soccer and ladies gaelic football, then camogie and golf. She was the Connacht Junior Girls' Golf Champion in 2006 and represented Connacht at U18 level in golf. [6]
She is a primary school teacher in Lucan.

Jack Carty is a rugby union player from Ireland. His primary position is at fly-half. Having started out with his hometown club, Buccaneers, Carty currently plays for the team of his native province of Connacht in the United Rugby Championship, having come through the team's academy. He is Connacht's record points scorer in the Pro14, having overtaken Ian Keatley in March 2019. Carty is an Ireland international, having made his debut for the side against Italy in 2019.
Dave Heffernan is a rugby union player from Ireland. As of 2024, he plays for Irish provincial side Connacht in the Pro14. Heffernan started his career playing as a flanker, before moving to the position of hooker. He plays his club rugby for Buccaneers. Heffernan has represented the Ireland U20 team.
Claire Molloy is an Ireland women's rugby union international from Galway. Molloy represented Ireland at the 2010, 2014 and 2017 Women's Rugby World Cups. At the 2014 tournament she was a member of the Ireland team that defeated New Zealand and she captained Ireland at the 2017 tournament. She was also a member of the Ireland teams that won the 2013 and 2015 Women's Six Nations Championships. She is also an Ireland women's rugby sevens international and captained the Ireland team at the 2013 Rugby World Cup Sevens. Molloy also played ladies' Gaelic football for Galway and featured in the 2005 All-Ireland Senior Ladies' Football Championship final.
Cliodhna Moloney is an Irish women's rugby union player from Kilconly, County Galway, Republic of Ireland. She currently plays for Railway Union RFC, Leinster Rugby (province) and the Ireland women's national rugby union team as a hooker.
Sene Naoupu is an Ireland women's rugby union international. Naoupu was a member of the Ireland team that won the 2015 Women's Six Nations Championship. She also represented Ireland at the 2017 Women's Rugby World Cup. She is also an Ireland women's rugby sevens international. Naoupu is a Samoan New Zealander who originally emigrated to Ireland in 2009 with her former husband, George Naoupu, the former Highlanders, Harlequins and Connacht rugby union player. Naoupu is also a lifestyle coach and fitness trainer and operates her own business, Senshaper. In 2016, Naoupu was listed by The Irish Times as one of the thirty most influential women in Ireland.
