General HonoréNabéréTraoré (born 28 September 1957) [1] is a Burkinabéarmy general who served as the interim head of state of Burkina Faso for one day,from 31 October to 1 November 2014,following the overthrow of Blaise Compaoréin the 2014 Burkina Faso uprising. [2]
Following his taking of power,he and other officials from the interim military administration declared Isaac Zida to be the interim Head of State until power could be handed over to a civilian government that would oversee elections. A few weeks later,a civilian,Michel Kafando,was chosen to replace Zida as transitional head of state. [3] [4]
Prior to the uprising,Traoréserved as Compaoré's aide de camp. [5]
