"Hopes & Fears" a song by Will Young, released as the first single from his first greatest hits album, The Hits and his 14th overall. It was written by Stew Jackson and Yolanda Quartey, two members of the Bristolian band Phantom Limb, who supported Young at his 25 July 2009 concert at Audley End, Essex, and on his 2009 tour. The single features production from Robot Club who managed to get legendary 1970s session drummer Skip Wiseman out of retirement for this track. It was released on 8 November 2009, on download only.

"Hope and Fear" is the 26th and final episode of the fourth season of the American science fiction television series Star Trek: Voyager. The episode first aired on the UPN network on May 20, 1998. Directed by Winrich Kolbe, it was developed from a story by Rick Berman, Brannon Braga and Joe Menosky into a teleplay by Menosky and Braga. "Hope and Fear" was the final episode of the Star Trek franchise to be worked on by executive producer Jeri Taylor.

After the French pop rock band Bubblies, the single's release is notable as being the first ever commercial music release in USB format, a special edition limited to 1,500 copies.

"Bend and Break" is a song performed and composed by English rock band Keane, released as the fifth and final single from their debut album Hopes and Fears. This single was released only in some European countries such as Germany and Austria, similarly to their 2007 single "Try Again". However "Bend and Break" was still heard on some American radio stations. The single features "Bend and Break", "On a Day Like Today" and a live version of "Allemande", as well as the "Bend and Break" live videoclip. The Best of Keane is the first official compilation album by British group Keane. It was released on 11 November 2013 through Island Records. The album contains all of the singles from the band's four studio albums, Hopes and Fears, Under the Iron Sea, Perfect Symmetry and Strangeland, plus two new songs: "Higher Than the Sun" and "Won't Be Broken", written during the Strangeland era. The deluxe version of the album includes a second disc with all B-sides and an unreleased song titled "Russian Farmer's Song".
