Htigyaing Township or Tigyaing Township (Burmese : ထီးချိုင့်မြို့နယ်; Shan : ၸႄႈဝဵင်းတီႈၶင်ႉ) is a township of Katha District in eastern Sagaing Region, in northern Myanmar. It lies on the border with the Shan State of Myanmar. The administrative seat is at Htigyaing.
The Shweli River is a tributary of the Irrawaddy and forms part of the northern boundary with Katha Township and part of the eastern boundary with the Shan State. [1] The Indaung Reserved Forest and the Kyauktaung Reserved Forest are located in the eastern part of the township. [1]
Among the towns and villages in Tigyaing Township are: Aledaw, Datwin, Daungbin, Htidawgaing, Myadaung, Tawma and Wundingon.
Shan State is a state of Myanmar. Shan State borders China (Yunnan) to the north, Laos to the east, and Thailand to the south, and five administrative divisions of Myanmar in the west. The largest of the 14 administrative divisions by land area, Shan State covers 155,800 km2, almost a quarter of the total area of Myanmar. Katha, sometimes also spelled Kathar, is a town in Sagaing Region, Myanmar, on the west side of the Irrawaddy River on a bluff with an average elevation of 124 m (407 ft). Most of the town is more than 10 m (33 ft) above the river. Katha is known for having inspired Kyauktada, the fictional setting of George Orwell's Burmese Days.
Pyin Oo Lwin District is a district of the Mandalay Region in central Myanmar. It lies northeast of Mandalay, and consists solely of Pyin Oo Lwin Township.
Thabeikkyin Township is a township of Thabeikkyin District in the Mandalay Region of Burma. It is the northernmost township in Mandalay Region and, although it primarily lies on the east bank of the Irrawaddy, it has a small enclave on the western bank extending as far as the village of Gagalaw, near the town of Baw in Katha District, Sagaing Region. On the south it borders Singu Township, on the east, Mogote Township and further north Shan State, while it abuts Tigyaing Township of Sagaing Region to the north.

Kengtung Township is a township of Kengtung District in the Shan State of Myanmar. The principal town is Kengtung. It lies almost entirely east of the Salween River and its area is over 12,000 square miles (31,000 km2). It is bounded on the north by the states of Mang Lon, Mong Lem and Keng Hung ; east by the Mekong River, south by the Siamese Shan States, and west in a general way by the Salween River, though it overlaps it in some places. The state is known to the Chinese as Mhng Khng, and was frequently called by the Burmese the 32 cities of the Gn (HkOn). The classical name of the state is Khemarata or Khemarata Tungkapuri.

Shweli River is a river in China and Myanmar (Burma). Also known as the Nam Mao in Shan or Dai, and Ruili River or Longchuan River (龙川江) in Chinese, it forms 26 km of the boundary between Burma and China. It is one of the tributaries of the Myanmar's chief river, the Ayeyarwady, and originates in Yunnan Province of China. It flows through northern Shan state and Sagaing Division, and enters the Ayeyarwady at Inywa, 60 kilometres (37 mi) north of Tagaung and south of Katha.

Naunglon is a village in Banmauk Township, Katha District, in the Sagaing Region of northern-central Myanmar about 230 mi south-east of Nay Pyi Taw, the country's capital, 38 mile from Bamauk and 35 miles from Pinlebu. It has 140 households and one Buddhist monastery, one primary school, and one pre-school. It is a middle sized village in that region. The village economy is mainly farming, digging for gold, and forests. Houses are built with timber and bamboo. The villagers are Buddhist and speak Shan and Kadu. The level of economic development, education and health care of the village is below the average.
Myadaung is a village in Htigyaing Township, Katha District, Sagaing Region. Myadaung was a historical town and district during the Konbaung era with a significant number of historical interests. Located on the east side of the Irrawaddy River, there are more than a thousand houses.
