ITU School of Civil Engineering is the first faculty of Istanbul Technical University. Its foundation date is considered as the starting of the engineering education in Ottoman Empire. Faculty has three divisions. [2]

University of Ilorin, also known as Unilorin, is a federal government-owned university in Ilorin, Kwara State, Nigeria. It was established by a decree of the federal military government in August, 1975. Technical and Engineering Campus of Shahid Beheshti University (PWUT) is a state university of technology, engineering and science in Iran. PWUT is also the technical training center for power and water industries in Iran.

The ITU School of Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering was founded as an individual department in School of Mechanical Engineering in 1943. It was reorganized in 1971 as a separate school. Faculty has its own library in addition to Mustafa Inan Library.

ITU School of Aeronautics and Astronautics, founded in 1983, is the 11th school of Istanbul Technical University. Three departments were engaged to the faculty, which are Aeronautical Engineering, Astronautical engineering, and Meteorological Engineering. Aeronautical Engineering Department was established as a branch training aeronautical engineers in the Mechanical Engineering Faculty in 1941, and then in 1944 became a department of the Mechanical Engineering Faculty. Meteorological Engineering Department was established in 1953 in the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering. It is the only Meteorological Engineering department in Turkey.

ITU School of Mines, located in Maslak campus, is one of the faculties in Istanbul Technical University, which has five departments. As of 2013, the dean is Prof. Dr. Fatma Arslan. Among the notable faculty of the ITU School of Mines are Galip Sağıroğlu, İhsan Ketin, Aykut Barka, Celal Şengör and Kazım Ergin.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Halil Güven</span> Turkish academic (born 1956)

Halil Guven is a Cypriot-born professor, currently serving as the Dean of San Diego State University - Georgia. He was a Vice Dean of SDSU Georgia for four years before then and was one of the coordinators of the project at the time of its conception. Dr. Güven served as a Rector at three different universities in Turkey and in Cyprus. He served as the rector of Istanbul Bilgi University appointed in the academic year of 2009–2010, Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU), North Cyprus in 2004–2007, and Bahçeşehir University, Istanbul, Turkey in 1999–2003. He received his B.S. degree from Boğaziçi University, his M.S. degree from Mississippi State University on Fulbright Scholarship (1981), and his Ph.D. degree from University of Houston, in Mechanical Engineering(1983). Alongside his 20+ articles in energy systems in peer-reviewed journals, Güven has edited books and published book chapters on Globalization, Leadership, Clash of civilizations and Education. He speaks Turkish, English, and moderate Spanish and Greek.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Niaz Ahmad Akhtar</span> Pakistani academic

Niaz Ahmad Akhtar is a Pakistani academic who is currently serving as the vice-chancellor of Quaid-i-Azam University, in office since 14 March 2023. He is also the vice-chairman of the Pakistan Engineering Council from Punjab.
