Indrajaalam (transl. Magic) is a 1990 Indian Malayalam-language crime thriller film produced and directed by Thampi Kannanthanam and written by Dennis Joseph. The film stars Mohanlal, Rajan P. Dev and Geetha, with music composed by S. P. Venkatesh. It was released on 3 September 1990. The Film became major commercial success and was major breakthrough for Rajan P Dev for his villain character Carlos.

The plot revolves around the uprising of an underworld gangster.
Action choreographer Sham Kaushal debuted with this film, who signed on in May 1990. One of Dennis Joseph's acquittances, Kennedy had recommended Rajan P. Dev to him after the success of the theatre play Kattukuthira. Thilakan was initially considered for the role of Carlos. However, they then decided to cast a new actor for the role. When they contacted Nana magazine, they recommended Rajan P. Dev for the role and he was eventually cast.  Filming took place mostly in Bombay. 
The soundtrack was composed by S. P. Venkatesh.

Indrajaalam was released on 3 September 1990, Onam day.   N. Krishnaswamy of The Indian Express wrote, "High-speed cameras, sensitive film, innovative choreography of action and use of newfangled props have helped in this direction".  Despite facing competition from three other Onam releases – Arhatha , Iyer the Great and Oliyampukal – it emerged the bigger success. 
Ali Bhai is a 2007 Indian Malayalam-language action film directed by Shaji Kailas, written by T. A. Shahid, and produced by Antony Perumbavoor through the company Aashirvad Cinemas. It stars Mohanlal as Anwar Ali / Ali Bhai, an undisputed leader in Kozhikode Palayam market and the savior of the poor. The character is based on the real-life person Ali Bappu, who lived in Kondotty a decade ago. The film also features Gopika, Navya Nair, Shamna Kasim, Innocent, Cochin Haneefa, Sai Kumar, Rajan P. Dev, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Siddique, Jagadish, and Shammi Thilakan in supporting roles. The plot is set in Kozhikode market and people whose livelihood depends on it, and also shows the culture of the traditional Barami Muslim community, who migrated from Yemen to Kozhikode centuries ago for trading and are known for making Urus. The plot follows Anwar Ali, a member of a Barami family, who flees home when he is wrongly accused of a theft. He moves to Kozhikode market and grew up as Ali Bhai, the protector of the market. The film completed its post-production in Chennai. The film was released on Independence Day and during Onam festival. Chennai-based Pyramid Saimira Group distributed the film outside Kerala. It was released in over 85 screens in Kerala, which was the largest release for a Malayalam film at that time. The film collected 84 lakhs on its first day, making it the highest ever first day gross for a Malayalam film at that time.
Rajan P. Dev was an Indian film and stage actor. He was born in Cherthala in the Alappuzha district of the former state Thiru-Kochi. He had acted in over 500 films in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada languages. He was noted for his villain roles laced with a touch of humour. He came into the limelight for his characterisation of Kochuvava in the play Kattukuthira. Rajan P. Dev died in Kochi Wednesday 29 July 2009 due to a liver disease.
Pranav Mohanlal is an Indian actor who works in Malayalam films. The son of actor Mohanlal, began his acting career as a child artist in Onnaman (2002) with his father in the lead role, and won the Kerala State Film Award for Best Child Artist for Punarjani (2003). He later assisted Jeethu Joseph on Papanasam and Life of Josutty. He made his acting debut in a lead role with action thriller Aadhi (2018), which emerged as one of the highest-grossing Malayalam films of the year and fetched him the SIIMA Award for Best Debut Actor. He achieved further critical and commercial success with Vineeth Sreenivasan's coming-of-age film Hridayam (2022).
Rajavinte Makan is a 1986 Indian Malayalam-language gangster film directed and produced by Thampi Kannanthanam from a screenplay by Dennis Joseph, based on the 1980 Rage of Angels by Sidney Sheldon. It stars Mohanlal as crime boss Vincent Gomes, and also features Ratheesh, Ambika and Mohan Jose in supporting roles. The film revolves around the rivalry between an underworld don, Vincent Gomes and the Home minister, N. Krishnadas.
Bhoomiyile Rajakkanmar is a 1987 Indian Malayalam-language political thriller film directed by Thampi Kannanthanam, written by Dennis Joseph, and produced by Joy Thomas under the company Jubilee Productions. It features Mohanlal, Suresh Gopi, Nalini, Balan K. Nair, Adoor Bhasi, Jagadish, and Jagathy Sreekumar in major roles. The music for the film was composed by S. P. Venkatesh. This film was a super hit and it was remade in Telugu.
Kilichundan Mampazham is a 2003 Indian Malayalam-language romantic comedy film written and directed by Priyadarshan from a story by Sreenivasan. It was produced by Antony Perumbavoor under the company Aashirvad Cinemas. The film stars Mohanlal, Soundarya, Sreenivasan, and Salim Kumar. Vineeth Sreenivasan debuted as a singer in the film. Ekalavyan is a 1993 Indian Malayalam-language neo-noir action thriller film directed by Shaji Kailas and written by Renji Panicker, starring Suresh Gopi in the lead role along with Siddique, Geetha, Narendra Prasad, Vijayaraghavan, Ganesh Kumar, Janardhanan, Madhu, Maathu, Jagathy Sreekumar, Kuthiravattam Pappu, and Devan in other pivotal roles. Ivide Thudangunnu was a major commercial success at the box office and a landmark film in Mohanlal's career.

Naadody (transl. Nomad) is a 1992 Indian Malayalam-language action drama film produced and directed by Thampi Kannanthanam and written by T. A. Razzaq. It stars Mohanlal in the lead role, alongside Suresh Gopi, Babu Antony, N. N. Pillai, Jagathy Sreekumar, Kuthiravattam Pappu, Jose Pellissery, Sathaar, Mohini, Sangita Madhavan Nair, and Baby Vichitra. The music was composed by S. P. Venkatesh. The film was dubbed and released in Telugu as Brahmarudrudu.
Maanthrikam (transl. Magical) is a 1995 Indian Malayalam-language action comedy film produced and directed by Thampi Kannanthanam and written by Babu Pallassery. It stars Mohanlal, Jagadish, Priya Raman, Raghuvaran, and Rajan P. Dev. Filmed by Saloo George and edited by A. Sreekar Prasad; S. P. Venkatesh provided the music. Jose Prakash was an Indian actor and singer who worked in Malayalam cinema. He was a singer turned actor who had appeared in more than 300 films mostly in antagonist roles. He was awarded with the J. C. Daniel Award in 2011, a day before he died aged 86. In a career spanning for around 40 years, he is known for portraying some of the iconic villain characters in the Malayalam film industry. Later, he switched to character roles in the mid 90s.
Dennis Joseph was an Indian scriptwriter and director known for his work in Malayalam films. He was active during the 1980s and early 1990s. He frequently collaborated with directors Joshi and Thambi Kannanthanam. He is known for scripting films including Nirakkoottu (1985), Rajavinte Makan (1986), Shyama (1986), New Delhi (1987), No.20 Madras Mail (1990), Kottayam Kunjachan (1990), Indrajaalam (1990), Akashadoothu (1993), Palayam (1994), and F.I.R. (1999). He also directed five films, including Manu Uncle, which won the National Film Award for Best Children's Film in 1988 and the Kerala State Film Award for the Best Children's Film in 1989.
