JP MacCallum (born March 3, 1975 in Halifax, Nova Scotia) is a Canadian ice hockey coach. He is the head coach of the Herlev Eagles in the Metal Ligaen.

Career

MacCallum played varsity ice hockey at Union College in Schenectady, New York, and at Saint Mary's University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Studying biology (major) and English (minor), he developed an expertise in training and particularly in strength training for hockey players. He became a full-time trainer with his own performance training business in 2000 and worked with athletes off-season, including Alex Grant, Brad Marchand and Andrew Bodnarchuk. [1] In 2004, he was named assistant coach at Saint Mary’s and stayed until 2007. [2]

MacCallum accepted an offer from Dunaújváros AC, a professional club from Hungary, to become their assistant coach. After serving in that position during the 2008-09 season, he was promoted to head coach in 2009 and remained until 2011. While in Hungary, he also worked for the Hungarian ice hockey federation, serving as head coach of the country’s under-20 national team and as assistant coach of the men’s national team, which included an appearances at the 2012 World Hockey Championships (Division 1, Group A) in Slovenia.

In 2012, MacCallum was signed by the Tohoku Free Blades of Japan. He served as an assistant coach for two years and then took over head coaching duties in 2014. In his single season at the helm, he guided the Free Blades to the Asia League Championship title. [3]

In March 2016, he was named head coach of the Herlev Eagles of Denmark’s top-flight Metal Ligaen. [4]

The Canadian Elite Hockey League (CEHL) was a semi-professional hockey league that played one season in 2005–2006. The CEHL was founded by Harold MacKay, a prominent member of the local hockey community. He previously brought the expansion Halifax Mooseheads of the QMJHL to Nova Scotia in 1994 and was later responsible for moving the Granby Predateurs franchise to Cape Breton where they became the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles.

Fabian Gerard Joseph is a Canadian retired ice hockey centre. He is most prominent for his role with the Canadian national ice hockey team in the late 1980s and early 1990s. He is a winner of two Winter Olympic Silver medals. He was Captain of Team Canada at the Lillehammer Olympic games in 1994. After playing hockey, Joseph continued his career, notably coaching the men's ice hockey team at Dalhousie University.

Shawn Kenneth MacKenzie is a Canadian former professional ice hockey goaltender who played a total of 130 minutes during 6 games in the National Hockey League with the New Jersey Devils. He had 15 goals scored against him in those 130 minutes of play, for a Goals Against Average of 6.92.

The 2015–16 Metal Ligaen season was the 59th season of ice hockey in Denmark. Ten teams participated in the league. Esbjerg Energy won championship by defeating Herning Blue Fox four games to two in the finals. The regular season begun on 18 September 2015 and ended on 29 February 2016.

The 2016–17 Metal Ligaen season was the 60th season of ice hockey in Denmark. Ten teams participated in the league. Esbjerg Energy defended their 2016 Danish championship title by defeating Gentofte Stars four games to one in the finals. The regular season begun on 23 September 2016 and ended on 28 February 2017. The last final was played on 16 April 2017.

The 2017–18 Metal Ligaen season was the 61st season of ice hockey in Denmark. The season got extended from 10 to 11 teams by including Hvidovre Fighters. It is Hvidovre's first season in the league since the 2012–13 season. It is also the first time ever that the league consists of 11 teams.

Radomír Heizer is a Slovak professional ice hockey player who currently plays for Nice hockey Côte d'Azur of the Ligue Magnus.

Troy Ryan is a Canadian ice hockey coach. He currently serves as the head coach of the Canadian national women's hockey team. In July 2020, he was hired to serve as the head coach for the Dalhousie Tigers women's ice hockey program.
