Jack Elliott (born Ray Baldy) [1] is a radio personality in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He began his broadcast career in the early 1970s working at smaller radio stations in the suburban Chicago area where he was born. He graduated from Columbia College Chicago with Bachelor of Arts degree in radio and television communications. [2]
A radio personality or radio presenter is a person who has an on-air position in radio broadcasting. A radio personality who hosts a radio show is also known as a radio host, and in India and Pakistan as a radio jockey. Radio personalities who introduce and play individual selections of recorded music are known as disc jockeys or "DJs" for short. Broadcast radio personalities may include talk radio hosts, AM/FM radio show hosts, and satellite radio program hosts.

In 1976 Elliott went to Phoenix, Arizona, where he worked at the radio station KRIZ. His eventual departure from Phoenix was prompted by the sale of the radio station in 1978. He was offered an on-air position with WKY in Oklahoma City, where he stayed for 12 years, through several format changes. In 1990, he was fired from WKY as another format change was about to happen. He said the firing was the "best thing to ever happen" to him.

KRIZ is a radio station broadcasting a gospel format. Licensed to Renton, Washington, United States, it serves the Seattle area. The station is currently owned by the Kris Bennett Broadcasting Co., Inc.
WKY is a radio station located in Oklahoma City and is under ownership of Cumulus Media. Its studios are in Northwest Oklahoma City, and the transmitter and 1 tower are located on E. Britton Road in Oklahoma City.
Three weeks later, he began doing a two-man morning radio show on KOQL FM in Oklahoma City, then an oldies station, with long-time acquaintance Ron Williams. Three years later, KOQL management made the switch to a country format, and the pair moved to KYIS FM in Oklahoma City. The "Jack & Ron" partnership continues to this day. [2]
KOQL "Q 106.1" is a Top 40-formatted station owned by Cumulus Media. The station broadcasts from Columbia, Missouri, with an ERP of 69,000 kW. The station serves Central Missouri. Its transmitter is located about 20 miles west of Jefferson City.
KYIS is a hot adult contemporary radio station serving the Oklahoma City area and is owned by Cumulus Media. KYIS-FM's studios are located in Northwest Oklahoma City and a transmitter site is in the Northside of the city.
Jack & Ron have won the Oklahoma Association of Broadcasters Best Radio Personalities of the Year award twice. They have won the American Women in Radio & TV Award for Best Radio Personalities three times. Additionally, the two have set a record by winning the Oklahoma Gazette "Best Of OKC" Radio personalities award twelve times, and they have won the Readers Choice Poll in The Oklahoman a record six times. In 2010 the duo received the award of Best of the Best in Radio from Oklahoma Magazine. And in October 2010, they were presented the "Star" award from the Oklahoma Media Network for Best Radio Personalities. Again in 2012 & 2013 Jack & Ron were voted Best Radio Personalities by readers of the Oklahoma Gazette. They have now won that award a record twelve times.
The Oklahoma Gazette is a free, weekly fiercely independent alt-weekly paper distributed throughout the Oklahoma City and metro area via more than 800 rack locations and via its official website. It covers local and statewide news dealing with city government, education, politics, sustainability, food, restaurants, theater, music and "active lifestyles". A notable feature of the Oklahoma Gazette is its Chicken-Fried News, where interesting, weird and obscure news from around the state is highlighted.
The Oklahoman is the largest daily newspaper in Oklahoma and is the only regional daily that covers the Greater Oklahoma City area. The Alliance for Audited Media lists it as the 59th largest U.S. newspaper in circulation. The Oklahoman experienced a 42% circulation decline from 2007 to 2012. The Oklahoman has been published by GateHouse Media since October 1, 2018.
In addition to his work as a radio host, Elliott has performed as TV spokesperson for numerous auto dealerships and is a voice-over artist with hundreds of commercial productions utilizing his voice. He has worked as a narrator, actor, and entertainer.
