Anthony Neil Wedgwood Benn, originally known as Anthony Wedgwood Benn, but later as Tony Benn, was a British politician, writer, and diarist. Hilary James Wedgwood Benn is a British Labour Party politician who has been the Member of Parliament (MP) for Leeds Central since the by-election in 1999. He served in the cabinet from 2003 to 2010, under the premierships of both Tony Blair and Gordon Brown. From 2010 to 2016, he served in various Labour Party shadow cabinets, most recently as Shadow Foreign Secretary from May 2015 until June 2016, when he was dismissed by Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn. In October 2016, he was elected as the Chairman of the new Exiting the European Union Select Committee.
Viscount Stansgate, of Stansgate in the County of Essex, is a title in the Peerage of the United Kingdom. It was created in 1942 for the Labour politician, former Secretary of State for India and future Secretary of State for Air, William Wedgwood Benn. He was the second son of Sir John Benn, 1st Baronet, of The Old Knoll. Lord Stansgate's eldest son and heir apparent, the Hon. Michael Benn, was later killed in the Second World War; consequently, he was succeeded in the title by his second son, the second Viscount, better known as the Labour politician Tony Benn. The latter disclaimed the peerage on 31 July 1963, the day the Peerage Act 1963 passed into law and made it possible for him to do so. As of 2018, the title is held by Tony Benn's eldest son Stephen as third Viscount. As a descendant of the first Benn Baronet of The Old Knoll, he is also in remainder to this title.
Winger, in the game of ice hockey, is a forward position of a player whose primary zone of play on the ice is along the outer playing area. They typically work by flanking the centre forward. Originally the name was given to forward players who went up and down the sides of the rink. Nowadays, there are different types of wingers in the game — out-and-out goal scorers, checkers who disrupt the opponents, and forwards who work along the boards and in the corners. He was formerly the president of Hicks Sports Marketing Group, and president of the Texas Rangers of Major League Baseball, all of which are holdings of Tom Hicks. Lites was briefly President and COO of the Phoenix Coyotes from March through December 2002. He was brought back as president of the Dallas Stars on November 18, 2011 when the club was sold to Tom Gaglardi. Lites had previously served as an executive in the front office of the Detroit Red Wings during the 1980s.
