Jia Yongsheng (Chinese :贾永生; born October 1947) is a retired lieutenant general ( zhong jiang ) of the People's Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) of China. He served as commander of the Lanzhou Military Region Air Force and the Beijing Military Region Air Force.

Biography

Jia was born in October 1947 in Tongzhou, Beijing. He enlisted in the PLAAF in August 1964, and studied at the PLAAF No. 8 Aviation Academy. He later also studied at PLA National Defence University and the Central Party School, receiving a master's degree. [1]

In December 1991, Jia became chief of staff of the PLAAF Tangshan Forward Headquarters. A year later, he was appointed deputy chief of staff of the Lanzhou Military Region. He attained the rank of major general in July 1994. In December 1996, he was transferred to the PLAAF headquarters to serve as deputy chief of staff. In December 2003, he was appointed commander of the Lanzhou Military Region Air Force and concurrently deputy commander of the Lanzhou MR. He was promoted to lieutenant general in July 2005. In August 2006, he was transferred to the Beijing Military Region to serve in the same positions. He retired from active service in January 2011. [1]

Jia was a member of the 11th National People's Congress. [1]

He fought in the Second Sino-Japanese War and the Korean War, and later served as Deputy Commander of the Lanzhou Military Region Air Force and then concurrently as Commander of the Beijing Military Region Air Force and Deputy Commander of the Beijing MR.

Ma Ning Commander of the Peoples Liberation Army Air Force

Ma Ning was a Chinese Communist revolutionary and major general of the People's Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF). A decorated army veteran of the Second Sino-Japanese War and the Chinese Civil War, he transferred to the Air Force after being handicapped by battle wounds. He trained to become a bomber pilot and fought in the Battle of Yijiangshan Islands. He rose rapidly during the Cultural Revolution, and was appointed Commander of the PLAAF in 1973 following the Lin Biao incident. After the end of the Cultural Revolution in 1976, he was removed from the command for his association with the radical Gang of Four.

Liu Shunyao was a Chinese pilot and general of the People's Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF). He served as commander of the Lanzhou Military Region Air Force, deputy commander of the PLAAF (1994–1996), and commander of the PLAAF (1996–2002).

Zheng Yuanlin is a lieutenant general (zhongjiang) of the People's Liberation Army (PLA). He has been Deputy Commander of the PLA Air Force (PLAAF) since December 2018. He was promoted to the rank of major general (shaojiang) in July 2010 and lieutenant general (zhongjiang) in December 2019.
