James R. Bowie (born February 17,1965) is a Japanese-American former professional baseball first baseman. He played for the Oakland Athletics during the 1994 season.
Bowie was born in Tokyo to Willard and Taiko Bowie. His father married his mother,a Japanese native,while serving in Japan in the United States Air Force. [1]
Bowie attended Armijo High School in Fairfield,California before playing college baseball at Sacramento City College and for the LSU Tigers. In 2012,he became the first athlete to have his uniform number retired by Armijo High. [2]
Leslie Edwin Miles is a former American football coach. He most recently served as the head coach at Kansas. His head coaching career began with the Oklahoma State Cowboys,where he coached from 2001 to 2004. Following that,he coached LSU from 2005 to 2016. Miles is nicknamed "the Hat" for his signature white cap,as well as "the Mad Hatter" for his eccentricities and play-calling habits. Prior to being a head coach,he was an assistant coach at Oklahoma State as well as at the University of Michigan,the University of Colorado at Boulder,and with the Dallas Cowboys of the National Football League (NFL). Miles led the 2007 LSU Tigers football team to a win in the BCS National Championship Game,defeating Ohio State.

Gaynell Charles "Gus" Tinsley was an American football end and coach. He played for the Chicago Cardinals of the National Football League (NFL) from 1937 to 1938 and in 1940. He played college football for the LSU Tigers,where he was a consensus All-American. He was drafted in the second round of the 1937 NFL draft by the Cardinals,with whom he was an All-NFL selection in 1937 and 1938. During his three years in the NFL,Tinsley set or tied NFL single-season records with 674 receiving yards in 1937 and 41 pass receptions in 1938. He later served as the head football coach at LSU from 1948 to 1954. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1956 as a player.
