John Blake is an American make-up artist. He has been nominated for one Academy Award, for the film Hoffa. He shared the nomination with Ve Neill and Greg Cannom. [1] He has worked on films for directors like Oliver Stone and the Coen brothers as key make-up artist on Nixon, U Turn, and Fargo. [2] In more recent years, he has worked on The Avengers, the Iron Man trilogy, There Will Be Blood, Tropic Thunder, and many other films over a 30-year career. [3]

With considerable knowledge in the field of special effects make-up and application of prosthesis he began to assert himself in the Italian and European cinema, becoming a personal makeup artist of Italian's actresses Margherita Buy, Laura Morante, Mariangela Melato and Valeria Golino. In 2023 he worked as Make-up supervisor in the film Joachim and the Apocalypse by Jordan River.
