John Lee (born 22 August 1964) is the CEO of Australian Sailing, the peak body for sailing activities across the nation as well as oversight of the highly successful Olympic programme. Lee is a Director of Cross River Rail Delivery Authority (Queensland) and Zenergy Mindset and wellbeing. Lee is the former CEO of the Sydney Roosters and the South Sydney Rabbitohs, the Tourism and Transport Forum (the national advocacy body for the top 200 visitor economy organisations)

Before this time he was a senior Australian bureaucrat, former head of the NSW Department of Premier & Cabinet, Department of Commerce, Ministry of Transport and the State Transit Authority.

He was a Commissioner on the Australian Sports Commission having been appointed in 2011 until 2015. His involvement included membership of the Governance and Executive Performance Sub-Committee and the Finance & Audit Sub-Committee. His community work has included serving on the Advertising Standards Board (2006-2014) and the Mary Mackillop Foundation (2005-2010).

On graduating from De La Salle College, Cronulla in 1981, Lee successfully completed a Bachelor of Education at the University of Wollongong. Whilst studying he held the position of President of the University Union and was an elected member of the Wollongong University Council. At the same time he completed his Sports Medicine qualifications and rose to be the Head Trainer for the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks under Jack Gibson and Alan Fitzgibbon. Later he successfully coached junior representative teams for the Parramatta Eels winning the 1992 SG Ball Cup competition.

Upon completing his degree he taught at secondary schools in Western Sydney. During the first term of the Carr Government he worked for Treasurer Michael Egan and then transitioned to work for the State Rail Authority in the lead up to and during the Sydney 2000 Olympics as the General Manager of Communications and Marketing.

He was Managing Director of Westbus and the National Bus Company in the early part of the 2000s .

In April 2003 he became the Director General of Transport for NSW. [1] During his time in transport he was integral in reforming the funding and contractual management of public transport services in NSW through competitive tendering.

In October 2008 Lee was appointed Director-General of the Department of Premier & Cabinet following a period as DIrector General of the Department of Commerce. [2] Lee left the position soon after the appointment of the incoming Premier Kristina Keneally. [3] [4] In November 2010, Lee was appointed CEO of peak industry body, the Tourism & Transport Forum. [5]

In 2015, Lee was appointed CEO of the South Sydney Rabbitohs, moving to occupy the same role with the Sydney Roosters from February 2016 until March 2017. [6] [7] In April 2017 he was appointed to the Cross River Rail board. [8]

Kristina Keneally Australian politician

Kristina Kerscher Keneally is an Australian politician who has been a Senator for New South Wales since February 2018, representing the Labor Party. Since 2019, she has served as Deputy Leader of the Opposition in the Senate, Shadow Minister for Home Affairs, and Shadow Minister for Immigration and Citizenship. She previously served as Premier of New South Wales from 2009 to 2011, the first woman to hold the position.

On 28 September 2010, Campbell announced that he would not seek Labor endorsement for re-election at the 2011 NSW election.

John Lang is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s, and coached in the 1980s through to the 2010s. A Queensland State of Origin and Australian international representative hooker, he played his club football in Brisbane with the Eastern Suburbs Tigers and in Sydney with the Eastern Suburbs Roosters. After playing, Lang became a first-grade coach in Brisbane with Easts, then in Sydney with the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks, Penrith Panthers and South Sydney Rabbitohs. Lang also coached the Australian Super League test team in 1997.

Nathan Rees

Nathan Rees is a former Australian politician who served as the 41st Premier of New South Wales and parliamentary leader of the New South Wales division of the Labor Party from September 2008 to December 2009. Rees was a Member of the New South Wales Legislative Assembly representing Toongabbie for Labor from 2007 to 2015.

Various railway lines have been proposed for Sydney, Australia, including both heavy rail extensions to the existing network, and more recently proposals for metro style lines–one of which was completed in 2019.

Matt Thistlethwaite Australian politician

Matthew James Thistlethwaite is an Australian politician. He has been an Australian Labor Party member of the Australian House of Representatives since 2013, representing the electorate of Kingsford Smith. He was formerly a member of the Australian Senate from 2011 to 2013. Thistlethwaite served as Parliamentary Secretary for Pacific Island Affairs and Parliamentary Secretary for Multicultural Affairs in the Gillard government from March to July 2013, and as Parliamentary Secretary for Infrastructure and Transport in the Rudd government from July to September 2013. Sydney Metro (2008 proposal)

Sydney Metro was a proposed rapid transit railway network in Sydney, intended to connect the central business district (CBD) with the inner and outer city suburbs Rouse Hill, Westmead, Malabar and lower North Shore. Initially proposed in 2008 as ‘Metro Link’, the plan was modified and renamed later that year. After half a billion dollars was spent on planning, property acquisitions and a tender process, it was cancelled in 2010.

Sydney Metro West is a metro line under construction in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, linking the Sydney City Centre (CBD) with Westmead. The metro line will run parallel to the existing Main Suburban and Main Western railway lines, with the main aims of doubling rail capacity between the City Centre and Greater Western Sydney, and relieving overcrowding on the Western Line. The line will form part of the Sydney Metro network.

John Richard Brew AM is an Australian public servant, engineer, educator and administrator. He has been recognised for significant contributions to transport as Managing Director of the Urban Transit Authority of NSW and Chief Executive of the State Rail Authority of NSW and as a consultant at national level. He has also been active in the field of education holding honorary positions in the Anglican school system of NSW and as an academic, and was President of the Baptist Churches of NSW and ACT.
