Johnnycake is an unincorporated community in McDowell County, West Virginia, United States. Johnnycake is located on U.S. Route 52 north of Iaeger.

Johnnycake Town, or Journeycake Town, was a small village settled in 1729. Currently unnamed, the village is located in what is now Catonsville, Maryland. The town was settled by Europeans in the 1720s, and was named after its tavern, famous for selling johnnycakes to travelers every morning. Johnnycake Town has since disappeared from maps but its main road, Johnnycake Road, still remains today.

Later, the mall was expanded to become one of the oldest major enclosed shopping malls in Ohio. Olive Garden, BJ's Brewhouse, Office Max, Max & Erma's, Barnes & Noble and Atlas Cinemas Stadium 16 are in the mall parking lot. The mall contains about 1 million square feet. On May 28, 2014 it was announced by Simon Property Group that they would transfer Great Lakes Mall to its new spin off Washington Prime Group. Washington Prime Group later became WP Glimcher. In 2015, Sears Holdings spun off 235 of its properties, including the Sears at Great Lakes Mall, into Seritage Growth Properties. Dillard's North closed in May 2017, consolidating the men and women's sections into one building. Sears closed in September 2017 due to the store's lease ended.
