Al-Karameh, or simply Karameh, is a town in central Jordan, near the Allenby Bridge which spans the Jordan River. The river defines the border between Jordan and the Israeli-occupied West Bank.

Battle of Karameh 1968 battle between Israel and the PLO and Jordan

The Battle of Karameh was a 15-hour military engagement between the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and combined forces of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) and the Jordanian Armed Forces (JAF) in the Jordanian town of Karameh on 21 March 1968, during the War of Attrition. It was planned by Israel as one of two concurrent raids on PLO camps, one in Karameh and one in the distant village of Safi—codenamed Operation Inferno and Operation Asuta, respectively—but the former turned into a full-scale battle.

Karameh Border Crossing

Karameh Border Crossing is the only border crossing between Jordan and Iraq. On the Iraqi side it is called the Turaibil Border Compound. The crossing served about 800,000 passengers in the year 2010 according to Al-Arab Al-Yawm newspaper. It connects the Jordanian town of Ruwaished to the Iraqi town of Turaibil.

Al-Karamah Sports Club is a Syrian football club based in the city of Homs. Founded in 1928, it is considered to be one of Asia's oldest sporting clubs. The club has won eight Syrian League titles and eight Syrian Cup titles. It also was the first Syrian club to win both the league and cup titles in the same year. The club is based at the Khaled Ibn Al Walid Stadium.
