King Cool: Ah! History of Donnie Iris and the Cruisers is a 2004 documentary of American rock singer Donnie Iris and his backing band, the Cruisers. The documentary was released on DVD to coincide with the 25th anniversary of Iris' solo career.
Donnie Iris is an American rock musician known for his work with the Jaggerz and Wild Cherry during the 1970s, and for his solo career beginning in the 1980s with his band, the Cruisers. He wrote the #2 Billboard hit, "The Rapper", with the Jaggerz in 1970 and was a member of Wild Cherry after the group had a #1 hit with "Play That Funky Music." He also achieved fame as a solo artist in the early 1980s with the #29 hit "Ah! Leah!" and the #37 hit "Love Is Like a Rock."

The Innocent was the band Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails played with after leaving Option 30. He then moved on to the Exotic Birds before creating his own band, Nine Inch Nails. The other members were Alan Greenblatt, Kevin Valentine, Rodney Cajka and Albritton McClain. Valentine and McClain were both members of Donnie Iris and the Cruisers, and they had just recently opted to go on their own way from the band. The band's sole album was released on the regional Red Label Records.

Marty Lee Hoenes is an American rock musician who is best known as the lead guitarist for the Donnie Iris and the Cruisers. He is also a freelance artist and designer, having designed many of the band's albums. He currently resides in North Canton, Ohio with his wife and daughter.
Albritton McClain is an American rock guitarist who is best known for being a member of Donnie Iris and the Cruisers. McClain played the bass guitar on the band's early albums during the 1980s and on Poletown in 1997.
Kevin Valentine is an American rock drummer who is best known for being a member of Donnie Iris and the Cruisers. Valentine played drums on all of the band's early albums during the 1980s. Valentine has recorded as a member of Breathless, The Innocent, Godz, Rosie, Shadow King, The Lou Gramm Band and Neverland. He also performed on the Kiss albums Hot In The Shade, Psycho Circus and Revenge, playing on all tracks but one on Psycho Circus. The one track he did not play was "Into the Void", performed by Peter Criss. On Revenge, he played on one song, "Take It Off" and played on You Love Me to Hate You on Hot in the Shade. He was also a touring member of Cinderella. Kevin is also a sound mixer for many prominent TV shows, such as The Good Wife, Better Call Saul, and Ozark.

They also had one song hit the Billboard Hot 100, "Samantha ," which peaked at #69 in April 1988. They named themselves after Beatles manager Brian Epstein's biography of the same name.

Paul David Goll, Jr. also known as Paul Goll is an American rock guitarist who is best known for being a member of Donnie Iris and the Cruisers. When he was 15, he already was playing the bass guitar professionally. Paul has been the band's guitarist since 1994, and first appeared on the live album Live! At Nick's Fat City in 1998. Goll is the son of the Paul D. Goll, Sr. Goll currently lives in Asheville, North Carolina and has been married to Elizabeth Jane Elliot since 2012. Goll currently works at Mission Hospitals Olson Huff Center for children.
