The Klein Memorial Auditorium is a 1400-seat proscenium theater located at 910 Fairfield Avenue in Bridgeport, Connecticut, United States. The venue was built with funds willed to the city by Bridgeport native Jacob Klein (1862 – 1932), a lawyer and active supporter of Bridgeport community organizations. The auditorium, designed by local architect Leonard Asheim, was built in the Art Deco style and features bronze doors, a marble lobby, inlaid wood and geometric motifs.

After opening its doors in 1940, the Klein hosted such acts as Leonard Bernstein, Arthur Fiedler, Eleanor Roosevelt, Martin Luther King Jr., Paul Robeson, Milton Berle, Victor Borge and Bill Cosby.[ citation needed ] More recently The Klein has hosted such diverse musical acts as Alice Cooper, B.B. King, Buddy Guy, Boz Scaggs, Herbie Hancock, Ziggy Marley, George Carlin, Peter Frampton, Boyz II Men, the B-52s, and the Parris Island Marine Band.[ citation needed ]

In addition to its history as a concert venue, local dance recitals, graduations, and union meetings occur regularly at the Klein, and the theater has been the home of the Greater Bridgeport Symphony Orchestra for the past 60 years. Other companies currently in residence include the New England Ballet Company, Greater Bridgeport Youth Orchestras, ConnectUs, and the Fairfield County Children's Choir. [2]

The Greater Connecticut Youth Orchestras (GCTYO) is based in Fairfield, Connecticut, US, and serves more than 350 students from over 30 surrounding towns, including Fairfield, Bridgeport, Trumbull, Monroe, Easton, Westport, Orange, Southbury, and numerous others. At the start of their new season in 2019, the organization changed its name to GCTYO from the original GBYO to broaden its reach beyond the Greater Bridgeport area and to reflect its current membership from all over Connecticut. The Orchestras perform at least three times a year in Bridgeport, Connecticut, at the Klein Memorial Auditorium. It was led for over 25 years by Robert Genualdi. The current Music Director and Principal Orchestra Conductor is Christopher Hisey, an alumnus of the program. He has been involved with the organization for over 30 years.

William James Finegan was an American jazz bandleader, pianist, arranger, and composer. He was an arranger in the Glenn Miller Orchestra in the late 1930s and early 1940s.

The John R. Emens College-Community Auditorium, or Emens Auditorium, is an auditorium on the campus of Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana, United States. The facility is used to host Broadway shows, plays, multi-genre concerts, and university events, as well as regional events for eastern Indiana. Emens Auditorium has a seating capacity of 3,581. The Auditorium was opened on March 14, 1964, when Fred Waring and his Pennsylvanians performed. Attached to the rear of the facility is a smaller theater used for performing arts shows.

Gustav Meier was a Swiss-born conductor and director of the Orchestra Conducting Program at the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University. He was also Music Director of the Greater Bridgeport Symphony Orchestra in Connecticut, for more than 40 years (1972–2013).

The Pequonnock River is a 16.7-mile-long (26.9 km) waterway in eastern Fairfield County, Connecticut. Its watershed is located in five communities, with the majority of it located within Monroe, Trumbull, and Bridgeport. The river has a penchant for flooding, particularly in spring since the removal of a retention dam in Trumbull in the 1950s. There seems to be a sharp difference of opinion among historians as to just what the Indian word Pequonnock signifies. Some insist it meant cleared field or open ground; others are sure it meant broken ground; while a third group is certain it meant place of slaughter or place of destruction.

Sts. Cyril and Methodius Oratory is a Roman Catholic church in Bridgeport, Connecticut, now part of the Diocese of Bridgeport. Since 2017, it has been administered by the Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest.
