Canunda National Park is a protected area in the Australian state of South Australia located about 350 km (220 mi) southeast of Adelaide, on the coast about 13 km (8.1 mi) southwest of Millicent. It consists of coastal dunes, limestone cliffs, and natural bushland. The beaches can be dangerous, but are popular for beach fishing and 4WD's.

Strzelecki Regional Reserve is a protected area located in the Australian state of South Australia in the gazetted localities of Lindon and Strzelecki Desert about 493 kilometres north-east of Port Augusta. It includes the Strzelecki Desert and the dry Strzelecki Creek bed. The regional reserve can only accessed via the historic Strzelecki Track. It is partly located on land that was included on the List of Wetlands of International Importance under the Ramsar Convention under the name Coongie Lakes in 1987. The regional reserve is classified as an IUCN Category VI protected area.

Mud Islands Game Reserve is a protected area in South Australia covering ten islands at the southern side of Lake Alexandrina about 19 kilometres south-east of Goolwa. The game reserve is described as providing ‘an ideal habitat for water birds, particularly waterfowl’ and that ‘duck shooting is permitted during open season.’ Since 2000, the game reserve has been located within the boundaries of the gazetted locality, Coorong.

Paranki Lagoon Conservation Park is a protected area in the Australian state of South Australia located in the state's south-east in the gazetted locality of West Range about 14 kilometres north of the town of Kingston SE. The conservation park was proclaimed under the National Parks and Wildlife Act 1972 on 16 October 2014 in respect to an area of land that:
… was a significant feeding ground for waterbirds and waders in the South East. Because it is fed by groundwater, the lake tends to fill earlier in winter and holds water longer in summer than most other lakes in the area. In the past, it has hosted up to 30,000 banded stilt, which are listed as vulnerable under the National Parks and Wildlife Act, and 40,000 waterfowl. Regular seasonal bird counts have also found it is an important feeding ground for a number of migratory species that use the East Asian-Australasian Flyway. These are birds like the sharp-tailed sandpiper, curlew sandpiper and red-necked stint, which are the subject of a number of international protection agreements.
