Lakewood School District, officially known as Lakewood School District 306, is a school district that serves the communities of Lake Goodwin, North Lakewood, Smokey Point, and Warm Beach in northern Snohomish County, Washington in the Pacific Northwest region of the United States. It consists of five schools, three of which are elementary schools and two are middle and high schools, respectively. The district was established in 1914 as consolidation of three earlier school districts in the region that were established as early as 1891. The majority of district facilities, including the main office, are located on a campus located south of Washington State Route 531 in North Lakewood. There are bus transportation services offered to schools part of the district in its 22.5-square-mile (58 km2) area, in addition to a family access program.
State Route 531 (SR 531) is a short state highway in Snohomish County, Washington, United States. It runs from west to east along 172nd Street between Wenberg County Park on Lake Goodwin to a junction with SR 9 in southern Arlington, with an intermediate interchange with Interstate 5 (I-5) in Smokey Point. The highway is the primary access point for the Arlington Municipal Airport and the Smokey Point retail corridor.
Colonel William Fleming was an American physician, soldier, politician and planter who served as a local justice of the peace in the mountains of southwestern Virginia and Kentucky, as well as in the Senate of Virginia and briefly acted as the Governor of Virginia during the American Revolutionary War. Wenberg County Park, formerly Wenberg State Park, is a 46-acre (18.6 ha) park located on the shores of Lake Goodwin in the community of Lake Goodwin, Washington. The park is maintained by Snohomish County Parks and Recreation. Wenberg began as a 20-acre (8.1 ha) Snohomish County park until the state acquired it in 1947. It remained a Washington state park until July 16, 2009, when the state transferred the park back to Snohomish County in an effort to keep it open while addressing a state budget crisis.
Lake Anna State Park is a state park located in Spotsylvania County in Virginia. Initially the site of the Goodwin Gold Mine – gold was first discovered at the site in 1829 – the land later played host to Lake Anna, a reservoir created to serve as a coolant for Dominion Power's nearby nuclear power plant. It was created by damming up the North Anna River. Work to create the park began in 1972, and it opened formally in 1983.

Pitchoff Mountain is a 3,600-foot (1,097 m) mountain opposite Cascade Mountain on NY 73 west of Keene Valley in Essex County, New York, in the US. There are two summits; the higher summit is viewless, but the northern summit, at 3,323 feet (1,013 m) offers 360 degree views of the nearby Cascade Lakes, the High Peaks of the Adirondacks, and, in clear weather, the Green Mountains of Vermont. There is a 5.2-mile (8.4 km) hiking trail that starts on Route 73 west of the Cascade Lakes, climbs 2.0 miles (3.2 km) to the blind summit, then traverses the nearly two-mile summit ridge to the northern summit before descending 1.4 miles (2.3 km) to Route 73 east of the Lakes, 2.7 miles (4.3 km) east of the starting point.
The Natchaug Trail is a Blue-Blazed hiking trail "system" which meanders through 19.5 miles (31.4 km) of forests in northeast Connecticut—primarily in Windham County. It is maintained by the Connecticut Forest and Park Association. Its southern trailhead begins in the James L. Goodwin State Forest in the towns of Chaplin, Connecticut and Hampton, Connecticut and the northern terminus is at its intersection with the Nipmuck Trail in Natchaug State Forest in Eastford, Connecticut.

James L. Goodwin State Forest is a Connecticut state forest covering approximately 2,000 acres (810 ha) in the towns of Chaplin and Hampton. The lands became public property when James L. Goodwin donated the personal forest he had been developing since 1913 to the state in 1964.
