Le cinesi (García)

Le cinesi is a comic opera by Manuel García to a libretto by Metastasio originally set by Caldara in 1735, but best known in the setting by Gluck of 1754. The opera is one of five chamber operas which the singing teacher composed in 1830 and 1831 for his students, along with I tre gobbi, Il finto sordo, L'isola disabitala, and Un avvertimenlo ai gelosi. [1] The chamber opera was revived for Rossini in Wildbad (2015), [2] and again by the Fundación Juan March in Madrid (2017). [3] [4]

Miguel Ángel Coria Varela was a Spanish composer of classical music. His early work showed affinities to the music of Anton Webern, but he became increasingly influenced by Impressionism. Margot is an opera in three acts composed by Joaquín Turina to a Spanish-language libretto by Gregorio Martínez Sierra. It premiered at the Teatro de la Zarzuela in Madrid on 10 October 1914. Set in Paris and Seville, the opera's story involves a love triangle between José Manuel, a young Spaniard; Margot, a Parisian courtesan with whom he has an affair; and Amparo, José Manuel's sweetheart in Andalucía.
