Leeds United Football Club Under-21s is the most senior of Leeds United's youth teams and the club's former reserve team. The team competes in the Premier League 2 and the Football League Trophy. The team host most of their home games at the club's Thorp Arch training complex, with some matches also taking place at Elland Road.
As of the 2023–24 season, they play in the Premier League 2 : Division 1, the top tier of the Professional Development League, following promotion from Division 2 of the 2022–23 Professional U21 Development League. [2]
Leeds United Football Club Under-18s compete in the U18 Premier League and the FA Youth Cup. The team is managed by a former Academy graduate Scott Gardner.
The under-23s replaced the club's under-21 team in 2016, which had replaced the reserve team in 2012 following the English game's reform of the youth football and the introduction of the Elite Player Performance Plan. The club was initially awarded Category Two status but upgraded to Category One in 2020. [3]
For the 2023–24 season player eligibility is restricted to under-21 players born after 1 January 2002. Only players born after 1 January 2005 (primarily scholars), are eligible to play for the Under 18s.

The 1992–93 FA Premier League was the inaugural season of the Premier League, the top division of English football. The season began on 15 August 1992 and ended on 11 May 1993. The league was made up of the 22 clubs that broke away from The Football League at the end of the 1991–92 season. The new league was backed up by a five-year, £304 million deal with Sky to televise Premier League matches. In concept, the Premier League was identical to the old First Division of the Football League, which was now reduced to three divisions.

The team is effectively Manchester United's second-string side, but is limited to five outfield players and one goalkeeper over the age of 21 per game following the introduction of new regulations from the 2022–23 season, a change from three outfield players over age 23 introduced in 2016–17. The age limit previously was again 21, from 2012–13. The team's current manager is Travis Binnion, who took over from Mark Dempsey in 2023.
