Librazhd (definite Albanian form : Librazhdi) is a town and a municipality in Elbasan County, eastern Albania. The municipality was formed at the 2015 local government reform by the merger of the former municipalities Hotolisht, Librazhd, Lunik, Orenjë, Polis, Qendër Librazhd and Stëblevë, that became municipal units. The seat of the municipality is the town Librazhd. [1] The total population is 31,892 (2011 census), [2] in a total area of 793.99 km2 (306.56 sq mi). [3] The population of the former municipality at the 2011 census was 6,937. [2] Librazhd is the nearest town to the Shebenik-Jabllanice National Park.

Librazhd was one of the youngest cities in Albania and was proclaimed on the 18th of February 1960. [4] Librazhd is also famous for being connected to the Via Egnatia road that stretched from Istanbul all the way on to Durrës. The people of Librazhd also participated in the Albanian Declaration of Independence in the 28 of November 1912. [4] World War II two battalions of the National Liberation Movement ambushed defeated Nazi Germany troops near Librazhd killing over 200 German soldiers. [5]

There is no train line that can goes to or from Librazhd. Elbasan-Pogradec extension has been closed

Highways

The only main road in Librazhd is the SH3 (State Road 3) that starts in Tirana and ends in Korçë and passes by Librazhd.

Sports

Librazhd favourite city sport is football. Its main soccer team is Sopoti Librazhd founded 1948. Its home stadium is Sopoti Stadium created in 1964 with a capacity of 3,000 spectators. The team is now in the Albanian Second Division group A. The team has had some problems with the stadium being outdated but for during the 2017-18 Albanian Second Division now its is a renovated stadium.

In the later Ottoman era about a quarter of the city of Qukes itself was Bektashi. Rrajcë is a village and a former municipality in the Elbasan County, eastern Albania. At the 2015 local government reform it became a subdivision of the municipality Prrenjas. The population at the 2019 census was 12,121. The municipality consists of the villages Rrajcë Fushë ,Sutaj, Skenderbe, Skenderbe Bardhaj, Urakë, Katjel and Kotodesh

. The village of Rrajcë is found within the boundaries of Shebenik-Jabllanicë National Park. The nearby forest was declared part of the transnational natural site of UNESCO, Ancient and Primeval Beech Forests of the Carpathians and Other Regions of Europe.
Shebenik-Jabllanicë National Park

The Shebenik-Jabllanicë National Park is a national park in eastern Albania adjacent to the border with North Macedonia. It encompasses 339.277 square kilometres (33,927.7 ha) and is specifically marked by a mountainous landscape supplied with glacial lakes, valleys, dense coniferous and deciduous forests and alpine meadows and pastures. Elevations in the park vary from 300 metres to over 2,200 metres above the Adriatic at the peak of Shebenik and Jabllanica, hence the name. It dwells a number of endangered species that are fast becoming rare in Southern Europe, including the brown bear, gray wolf and balkan lynx. The abundance in wildlife can in part be explained by the variety of vegetation types and remote location.

The 2009–10 Albanian First Division was the 63rd season of a second-tier Association football league in Albania.

Party for Justice, Integration and Unity Albanian political party

The Party for Justice, Integration and Unity is a nationalist, right-wing political party in Albania whose primary aim is the promotion of national issues. The party focuses on highlighting national issues, including Kosovo, Albanians in North Macedonia, Montenegro, Presevo Valley and especially the Cham issue.
