Madonna singles discography singles discography

American singer Madonna has released 86 singles and 23 promotional singles and charted with 17 other songs. In 1982, she signed a contract with Sire Records and Warner Bros. Records, and released her first two singles before launching her eponymous debut album. Her first entry on the US Billboard Hot 100 was "Holiday" (1983), which peaked at number 16. The following year, Madonna released "Like a Virgin", which reached number one in Australia, Canada and the US; in the latter it spent six weeks atop the chart. The album Like a Virgin spawned three other top five singles: "Material Girl", "Angel", and "Dress You Up", with "Angel" also peaking at number one in Australia. In 1985, Madonna released her second US number-one single, "Crazy for You", and her first UK number-one single, "Into the Groove", both from feature film soundtracks. "Into the Groove" also topped the charts in Italy, Spain and Australia. The following year, her third studio album True Blue gave her three number-one singles: "Live to Tell", "Papa Don't Preach", and "Open Your Heart". Two other singles from the album, "True Blue" and "La Isla Bonita", were top-five hits. In 1987, she scored another number-one single with "Who's That Girl". The title track from Madonna's fourth studio album, Like a Prayer (1989), was her seventh single to top the Hot 100 chart, making her the female artist with the most number-one singles in the 1980s.

Justin Timberlake discography discography

American singer-songwriter Justin Timberlake has released five studio albums, two compilation albums, three extended plays, and 39 singles. Timberlake initially started his music career in 1995, as a member of boy band NSYNC. Following the group's hiatus in 2002, he released his solo debut studio album, Justified, in November that same year. The album was a commercial success and peaked at number two on the US Billboard 200 chart and additionally topped the charts in Ireland and the United Kingdom. Justified earned multiple multi-platinum certifications, including a triple platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) and a sextuple platinum certification from the British Phonographic Industry (BPI). It produced four singles: "Like I Love You", "Cry Me a River", "Rock Your Body" and "Señorita"; all performed well commercially, with two of them becoming top 5 hits on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart and top two hits on the UK Singles Chart. "Rock Your Body" also reached number one in Australia.

Chris Brown discography discography

American singer-rapper Chris Brown has released nine studio albums, nine mixtapes, one hundred and sixty-one singles and nineteen promotional singles. According to Billboard, Brown has the seventh most Hot 100 entries on the chart with 94. As of August 2017, he has achieved 42 top 40 entries on the Hot 100. Brown is the singer with the fifth-most consecutive weeks on the Hot 100 chart. According to the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), he is the seventh-best-selling digital single artist in the United States with sales of 69.5 million.

Weezer discography

The discography of Weezer, an American rock band, consists of 13 studio albums, two compilation albums, one video album, six extended plays, 37 singles and 40 music videos. Weezer's self-titled debut studio album, often referred to as The Blue Album, was released in May 1994 through DGC Records. The album was a huge commercial success, peaking at number 16 on the US Billboard 200 and spawning the singles "Undone – The Sweater Song" and "Buddy Holly", both of which were responsible for launching Weezer into mainstream success with the aid of music videos directed by Spike Jonze. It has sold 3.3 million copies in the United States and has been certified triple platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), becoming the band's best selling album to date. Following the success of their debut album, Weezer took a break from touring for the Christmas holidays. Lead singer Rivers Cuomo began piecing together demo material for Weezer's second studio album. Cuomo's original concept for the album was a space-themed rock opera, Songs from the Black Hole. Ultimately, the Songs from the Black Hole album concept was dropped; the band, however, continued to utilize songs from these sessions into work for their second studio album. Pinkerton was released as the band's second studio album in September 1996. Peaking at number 19 on the Billboard 200, it was considered a critical and commercial failure at the time of its release, selling far less than its triple platinum predecessor. However, in the years following its release, it has seen much critical and commercial championing.
