List of FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship qualifications

The FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship is the process that a national women's volleyball team goes through to qualify for the FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship finals.

Contents

Qualifying tournaments are held within the five FIVB continental zones (Africa, Asia and Oceania, North and Central America and Caribbean, South America, Europe), and are organized by their respective confederations. For each tournament, FIVB decides beforehand the number of places in the finals allocated to each of the continental zones, based on the numbers or relative strength of the confederations' teams.

The most recent qualification process was the 2022 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship qualification which commenced in 2018 and finished in 2021.

The 2014 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship was held in Poland from 30 August to 21 September 2014. The tournament featured 24 teams to determine the world champions in men's volleyball. In addition to the host nation Poland, 23 teams qualified for the tournament by means of continental and regional competitions. The matches took place in seven venues across seven Polish cities, with the final being held at Spodek, Katowice.

The 2003 Women's African Nations Championship was the 11th edition of the Women's African Volleyball Championship organised by Africa's governing volleyball body, the Confédération Africaine de Volleyball. It was held in Nairobi, Kenya, from 16 to 23 August 2003.

The North American zone see the zones divided into two Caribbean, Central and Central American zones. The two Caribbean zones will meet and then go up against the Central American zone in the inter-zonal tournaments. Both Caribbean zones will have an elimination bracket where two teams per country competing in a two-game series, if there is a tie a fifth game will be played by both countries. In the second round of the bracket the series will be a best of three. The winner and runner up of the main bracket and of the repechage will advance to the next round. The winner of the 2010–12 Continental Beach Volleyball Cup will advance to the Olympics. 29 out of 31 possible nations entered plus two non-IOC members entered both the men's and women's tournaments.

The 2015 FIVB Women's World Cup was held from August 22 to September 6 in Japan. The tournament was a qualification process for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The 2018 FIVB Women's World Championship was the eighteenth edition of the event, contested by the senior women's national teams of the members of the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB), the sport's global governing body. The 2017 Women's African Nations Championship was the 18th edition of the Women's African Volleyball Championship organised by Africa's governing volleyball body, the Confédération Africaine de Volleyball. Held in Yaoundé, Cameroon, the tournament took place from 7 to 14 October 2017. The top two teams, who had registered with FIVB for the 2018 World Championship, qualify to represent Africa in the 2018 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship.

Beach Volleyball at the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics was held from 7 to 17 October. The events took place at the Parque Tres de Febrero in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The qualification for the 2020 men's Olympic volleyball tournament allocated twelve teams quota spots: the hosts, the winners in each of the six pools of Intercontinental Qualifying Tournament, and five continental Olympic qualification tournament winners. Teams already qualified for the event are not eligible to play in the following qualification tournaments. The 2020 Olympics were postponed to 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The 2021 FIVB Volleyball Women's U20 World Championship was the 21st edition of the FIVB Volleyball Women's U20 World Championship, contested by the women's national teams under the age of 20 of the members of the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB), the sport's global governing body. The final tournament was held in Belgium and Netherlands, making it the first time that the tournament was jointly hosted by more than one country.
