Good Charlotte American rock band

Good Charlotte is an American rock band from Waldorf, Maryland, that formed in 1996. Since 1998, the band's constant members have been vocalist Joel Madden, guitarist and vocalist Benji Madden, bassist Paul Thomas, guitarist and keyboardist Billy Martin, while drummer Dean Butterworth has been a member of the band since 2005. After a four-year-long hiatus, the band announced its comeback on November 3, 2015. The band has released seven studio albums: Good Charlotte (2000), The Young and the Hopeless (2002), The Chronicles of Life and Death (2004), Good Morning Revival (2007), Cardiology (2010),Youth Authority (2016), and Generation Rx (2018), as well as two compilations: Greatest Remixes (2008) and Greatest Hits (2010).

The MTV Australia Awards started in 2005 and were Australia's first awards show to celebrate both local and international acts. The last edition happened in 2009.

The Young and the Hopeless is the second studio album by American rock band Good Charlotte. Following the release of their self-titled debut album (2000), the band went through three different drummers. During this period, they met producer Eric Valentine and soon enlisted him for their next album. Sessions lasted from February to May 2002; Josh Freese of the Vandals served as a session drummer. Almost all of the songs were written by Benji and Joel Madden, with two tracks being co-written with Valentine and Goldfinger frontman John Feldmann. During their appearance on the 2002 Warped Tour, the band were introduced to drummer Chris Wilson, who joined soon afterwards. A music video was shot for "Lifestyles of the Rich & Famous" in July 2002, with track being released as a single in September.
