Ringo Lam Ling-Tung was a Hong Kong film director, producer, and screenwriter. He was known for his action and crime films produced during the Hong Kong New Wave, many of them comprising entries in the heroic bloodshed subgenre. He was nominated for six Hong Kong Film Awards, winning Best Director for his 1987 film City on Fire, which he followed with other similar films that shared a dark view of Hong Kong society, collectively known as the "On Fire" cycle.
Lamberto Bava is an Italian film director. Born in Rome, Bava began working as an assistant director for his director father Mario Bava. Lamberto co-directed the 1979 television film La Venere d'Ille with his father and in 1980 directed his first solo feature film Macabre.
Dream Lovers is a 1986 Hong Kong romantic fantasy film directed by Tony Au. The film stars Chow Yun-fat as Song Yu, a famous orchestra conductor who recently has visions of a beautiful woman and a Qin dynasty era terracotta statue. When Song visits the statues, he meets Cheung Yuet-heung, who also has dreams of a long lost lover. but with her visions being more violent. The two meet with a medium who tells them that they are the reincarnations of a pair of lovers who were murdered hundreds of years earlier.
