The Arkansas–LSU football rivalry, formally known as the Battle for the Boot but more recently sometimes informally called the Battle for the Golden Boot, is an American college football rivalry between the Razorbacks of the University of Arkansas and Tigers of Louisiana State University. The first game between the Razorbacks and Tigers was played in 1901. The 2015 Texas Longhorns football team, known variously as "Texas", "UT", the "Longhorns", or the "Horns", was a collegiate American football team that represented the University of Texas at Austin as a member of the Big 12 Conference in the 2015 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The team played its home games at Darrell K Royal–Texas Memorial Stadium in Austin, Texas, where the team is based. The Longhorns were led by second-year head coach Charlie Strong. Shawn Watson and Joe Wickline ran the offense. Vance Bedford served as defensive coordinator. They finished the season 5–7, 4–5 in Big 12 play to finish in a three-way tie for fifth place.

Lindsey Scott Jr. is an American football quarterback for the Arlington Renegades of the United Football League (UFL). He began his career with the LSU Tigers before transferring to the East Mississippi Lions, where he threw for over 3,400 yards and 29 touchdowns. After one year he transferred for a second time to the Missouri Tigers where he sat a year due to an injury. He transferred once again for a third time to FCS team, the Nicholls Colonels. Scott transferred as a graduate transfer for a fourth and final time to the Incarnate Word Cardinals and set FCS records for touchdown passes and touchdowns responsible for.
