A majority of elimination round games are held in the Smart Araneta Coliseum. SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay is an alternative venue when the Smart Araneta Coliseum is unavailable. [1] Playoff games are exclusively held at venues in Metro Manila, mostly at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Contents

Provincial games are held on selected locations throughout the country, with most of the games held on a Saturday. Very rarely does a playoff game is held outside Metro Manila, if at all.

All-Star games, on the other hand, are currently rotated between Luzon and Visayas/Mindanao.

Solomon Jemuel Rayos Mercado is a Filipino-American former professional basketball player in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). Known as the "Sol-Train", he had an impressive PBA rookie season and eventually became a reliable point guard for most of the teams he played for.

Prior to the draft, they were allowed to carry over three players from their PBL team: Jay-R Reyes, Junjun Cabatu and Jay Sagad. Furthermore, they also took part in an expansion draft in which they were able to select three players from the other PBA teams who were not protected by their clubs, acquiring Rob Wainwright, Gilbert Lao and Denver Lopez in the process.

The Meralco Bolts first participated in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Draft on August 29, 2010, one month before their first PBA season. The Bolts bought the original franchise of the Sta. Lucia Realtors in 2010 when Sta. Lucia disbanded after the 2009–10 season. Meralco received the rights for all of the Sta. Lucia's players and draftees. As an incentive of being a new franchise, the PBA Board of Governors gave Meralco the 11th overall pick.

Clifford Marion "Cliff" Hodge is a Filipino-American basketball player for the Meralco Bolts of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). He was selected 4th overall by the Meralco Bolts in the 2012 PBA draft.

The 2016 Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Governors' Cup, also known as the 2016 Oppo-PBA Governors' Cup for sponsorship reasons, was the third and last conference of the 2015–16 PBA season. Due to the preparations of the Philippines men's national basketball team for the 2016 FIBA World Olympic Qualifying Tournament, which was held in Manila, the tournament started on July 15 and ended on October 19, 2016. The tournament allowed teams to hire foreign players or imports with a height limit of 6 ft 5 in (1.96 m) for the top eight teams of combined results of the Philippine Cup and Commissioner's Cup, while the bottom four teams are allowed to hire imports with a height limit of 6 ft 9 in (2.06 m). The teams are allowed to hire an additional Asian import with a height limit of 6 ft 3 in (1.91 m).

The 2015–16 Phoenix Fuel Masters season was the first season of the franchise in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA).

Juan Paolo S. Taha is a Filipino basketball player for the NorthPort Batang Pier of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). He was drafted 29th overall by the Kia Sorento in the 2014 PBA draft.

Cris Michael Solis Tolomia is a Filipino professional basketball player who last played for the TNT Tropang Giga of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). He won a UAAP championship with the FEU Tamaraws.

The San Miguel Beermen participated in the first ever PBA draft in 1985, selecting Teddy Alfarero as the first be drafted by them at 3rd overall. They then didn't draft for three years. They returned in 1989 by selecting Bobby Jose and Ato Agustin.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the season's start, originally scheduled on April 11, 2021, has been delayed until July 16, 2021. The league's Board of Governors announced that the season had two conferences: the Philippine Cup and the Governors' Cup.

Norman Aaron Black is a Filipino-American professional basketball player for the Meralco Bolts of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). He won the PBA Outstanding Rookie award in 2021. He is the son of former PBA Best Import Norman Black, who is also the former head coach of Meralco.
