The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) is the office or official charged with the prosecution of criminal offences in several criminal jurisdictions around the world. The title is used mainly in jurisdictions that are or have been members of the Commonwealth of Nations.
In the United States, a district attorney (DA), county attorney, county prosecutor, state's attorney, prosecuting attorney, commonwealth's attorney, state attorney or solicitor is the chief prosecutor or chief law enforcement officer representing a U.S. state in a local government area, typically a county or a group of counties. A general election will be held in the U.S. state of Kentucky on November 5, 2024. The primary election for all offices will be held on May 21, 2024. The last day to register to vote in the primary election is April 22 and the last day to register to vote in the general election is October 7.
