The following is a list of districts of Taipei City ranked by population. Data is current as of 15 August 2006 and was sourced from the Taipei City Government.

Taipei Special municipality in Republic of China

Taipei, officially known as Taipei City, is the capital and a special municipality of Taiwan. Located in the northern part of the Island of Taiwan, Taipei City is an enclave of the municipality of New Taipei City that sits about 25 km (16 mi) southwest of the northern port city Keelung. Most of the city is located in the Taipei Basin, an ancient lakebed. The basin is bounded by the relatively narrow valleys of the Keelung and Xindian rivers, which join to form the Tamsui River along the city's western border.

Nangang District, also Nankang, is a southeastern district of Taipei, Taiwan. It is the seat of the Academia Sinica, Taipei World Trade Center Nangang Exhibition Hall, and Nankang Software Park (NKSP).

Songshan District, Taipei District in Eastern Taipei, Republic of China

Songshan District is a district of Taipei, Taiwan. The name of the district is alternatively spelled Sungshan. The Songshan Airport and the Taipei Arena are located here.

Wanli District, New Taipei District in Northern Taiwan, Republic of China

Wanli District, known in Basay as Masu, is a rural district on the rocky seacoast in northeastern New Taipei City in northern Taiwan. Wanli is a popular tourist destination and the site of the Cape Yeliu Miocene Formation which features distinctive hoodoo outcrops. The "Queen's Head" outcrop is a Taiwanese icon and serves as an informal trademark for the township. Kataw in the adjacent Jinshan District features the Wanli Taiwanese hot springs area, which is connected with the Jinshan Hot Springs (金山溫泉).

Dashu District District in Southern Taiwan, Taiwan

Dashu District (Chinese: 大樹區; pinyin: Dàshù Qū; Wade–Giles: Ta4-shu4 Ch'ü1; Pe̍h-ōe-jī: Toā-chhiū-khu) is a suburban district located in Kaohsiung City, Taiwan and shoring Kaoping River. Fo Guang Shan is one of largest travelling spot in Dashu District. It is also the base of E-Da World, a new lifestyle destination that encompasses the upscale Crowne Plaza Kaohsiung E-Da World hotel, the E-Da Skylark hotel, the E-DA Theme Park, the E-Da Mall, E-Da City (Real Estate Development) and I-Shou University.

Songshan–Xindian line line of the Taipei MRT

The Songshan–Xindian or Green line is a line of the Taipei Metro. Parts of the line runs under the Roosevelt Road, following the route of the former Xindian railway line, which ceased service in 1965 on its southern section.

Zhongshan District, Dalian District in Liaoning, Peoples Republic of China

Banqiao District is a district and the seat of New Taipei, Taiwan. It has the third-highest population density in Taiwan. It was formerly the 22nd-densest city in the world, with over 24,000 people per km2. Until the December 25, 2010 creation of New Taipei City, Banqiao was an incorporated county-controlled city and the former seat of Taipei County.

Sandimen Mountain indigenous township

Sandimen Township is a mountain indigenous township in Pingtung County, Taiwan. The population of the township consists mainly of the Paiwan people with a substantial Rukai minority.

Jinshan District, New Taipei District in Northern Taiwan, Republic of China

Jinshan District is a rural district on the coast in northern New Taipei, Taiwan. The district draws many visitors each year because of its hot springs and its proximity to Chin Pao San and the Ju Ming Museum. The district is home to the Dharma Drum Buddhist College, an institution of higher learning founded by Dharma Drum Mountain monastics devoted to the principles of Zen Buddhism.

Xinyi Special District


Xinyi Special District, also known as Xinyi Planned Area, is located in Xinyi District, Taipei, Taiwan. The total area of Xinyi Special District is 153 hectares. It was designed in the 1970s and developed from the 1980s onward. Xinyi Special District is the prime central business district of Taipei. Important infrastructure, such as Taipei 101, Taipei City Hall, Taipei International Convention Center and Taipei World Trade Center, is located within this area.
